Bill is it a good idea, since AMSoil is 100:1 mix.. if you mixed it at 50:1 would that makes any difference , or because of the way it's designed, should it be just mixed it only at 100:1 ratio? I know other oil has >marking of 50:1 , those probably good to mixed it in that ratio
Amsoil only recommends running more oil, ONLY when the condistion warrent...Even in racing application, they recommend 80:1...On their website, they state that you can bring it down to 50:1.....But I got to tell you, the condistions would really have to be bad to use 50:1...
I personally break my engine in with the amount I'm going to run...I don't tell folks to do this..I only know I can do it...
When you learn to run this way, you understand you don't need all that oil, besides, more oil requires you to run a more leaner mixture on the needles....Also, running excess, even with amsoil, you can get build up...
To me, the most important part of the break-in, is the idle for 8 ounces ..
After about 2 gallons, you can let her rip tatorchip, if you want...These engines are tuff as heck, when tuned properly...I just like to baby mine...I've rip them right out of the box, and no real ill effects..Doing the method right, insures a better chance for longer life...
Amsoil 100:1 is designed to run at , you guest it? 100:1...But for our application, and to help with those that are weary about using such mixtures..I have come up with these mixture ratios to help those folks come into the 21 century, and try to learn something along the way...
When I say don't run below a certain amount using this fuel..I mean it...Because I understand the properties of the fuel...When someone wants to run more...I just let them do it, and watch them learn from it...
