I am a noobie, and just purchased an DX7, and a CSM SL720 gyro. When you explain what I need to do, remember, that I am new to this, and will need a simple explanation using layman's terms.

All indications so far are pointing to my DX7 as the culprit.

I have a Trex 600, which does fly OK in normal rate mode. BUT... I am not able to access the quick setup on my gyro. This is accomplished by toggling the HH switch on the radio during gyro boot. Also, I am unable to turn on HH mode. The gyro functions under the default settings, but I cannot get into setup, or use HH. The gain on my DX7 is set to 72% per channel which should equate to 32 for a gain. The gyro is operated off of the gear channel as recommended.

When I toggle the DX7 gear switch with the monitor page up, nothing happens. Indications are that the DX7 is not sending a signal from this switch.

All of the settings in the gyro are set to default, except the sensing is normal, instead of reversed.

Being a noob and learning how to fly all together, it would be nice to have HH mode.

What am I doing wrong?

I am just about at my wits end.

Many thanks in advance,

Mark

if both are the same you will not be switching it in and out
mine is 68 and 37
50 is the 0 mark in a way compared to other radios
anything below 50 is like a negative and anything
above 50 is positive

do a search on rr for dx7 and 401 lots of help

Bob, I'll keep looking in the DX7 threads, but I have a CSM 720, not a 401.

Thanks!

Once you get the gear switch to operate correctly, now press and hold down the "down" and "select" buttons (after) turning tx on and scroll to travel adjustment screen and press "select" button until you get to thge "gear" selection and then change your values with the increase/decrease
button. You should be able to switch inbetween HH and normal mode.

It was great talking to ya Mark. Hope everything works OK. I know how frustrating it can be when you can't get your gyro working. Hence my nickname. If it wasen't for NQNA, Kevin, I wouldn't be in helis. Kevin helped me with mine 6-7 years ago. I was to the point I was going to practically give my heli away if I haden't got the gyro working.

Let me know how it goes this weekend
