How much does a stock craptor weigh? My fully blinged Hurrican weighs in at just over 8 lbs fully loaded.

So anything heavier than a Raptor is pointless? Which Raptor are we talking about? 30, 50, 60, 90? You are aware that the Raptor isn't the be all end all of existence, right? It's just a plastic helicopter that came onto the market in the 90s at just the right time to take the crown away from the Shuttle and Concept.

To make it relevant to the topic at hand, I don't have a Hurrican, but it is a cool looking heli. Maybe someday.

Unlesss you have flown both a Hurrican and Raptor, I would shut the hell up becuase you do not know what you are talking about.

This thing fly's just like a 90 size ship with options for full carbon and full metal.

My issue is that so many people chime in on these boards that have no first hand knowledge of the issue at hand. My _____ is better than your ______. Even though they have not flown or seen my _______.

scamp62,

I don't mean to pick on you but weight is only one minor part of what makes a heli. My full carbon Hurrican weighs less than a Raptor anyways.

That is the most rediculous statement I have ever heard. So any bird that weighs less is better? My CP Pro that I started with weighs less than your Raptor.. Want to trade it? I may even throw in a couple bucks.

My educated opinion

I have Raptors and a Hurrican. My Hurrican flies better than my Raptors.

Ghostrider…… re-read my post..do you see anywhere, that I stated that mine is better then yours……acquiring to one of the fellow pilots at our field, (he just received his hurrican) that his paperwork states that the Hurrican is heaver than the stock raptor. How yours is lighter ?…..it is obviously a non-standard bird !
....then comparing a CPPro to a Raptor is the most dim-witted statements I have ever read on RR…… Power to Wight ratio is one of the fist considerations in designing a powered flight machines. It is obvious this is way over your head…and you don’t understand….. And then if you do read my post again you see that squiggly thing after “so what’s the point”…that’s called a “question mark” …..it indicates that I’m asking a question !.......not making a statement ! ……so are you fallowing me so far !.....if I’m going to fast for you please let me know !.......I’m asking what are the benefits to the Hurricane[U]

Yall know that I have the 2nd Hurrican that was imported into the US, Rusty has the first and it was an early version.

I'm getting ready to put Hurrican #2 together.

scamp62, well for starters, G-10 or carbon stacked frame, unlike the plastic frame on your Raptor, not that theres anything wrong with that I also own (2) Raptor 60's but the stacked frame is much stronger, how about metal grips standard, with the 003 kit you also get a metal swash, and metal hub/yoke, and if you go for the gusto with the 007 kit you get a full carbon ship with a full metal head from the swash all the way up.

The Hurrican is a step up.

Mine with blades and 16oz of fuel weighs 8.4 lbs and its no slouch

O.k. now were getting some ware ! thanks Foxden….so the Hurrican is not just a CF frame up-grade ! With what looked like an air-skipper mechanics for the raptor…(I only got a brief look at the frame that was at our field) is there a web address to see more ?

I don't know scamp, but I took it like you were asking why you would invest in a Hurrican if it weighs more? Even though weight is very important, I feel there is much more to a helicopter than just weight, as Foxden outlined above.

Maybe I mis-understood your statement. If I did, I apologize. And I apologize for jumping your sh>t earlier. I just have an issue with people putting there two cents in when they don't have any first hand knowledge. No hard feelings, I hope!

My Hurrican is the STOCK 007 kit full carbon except for the tail push rod and boom supports that are carbon.

And by the way, the CPPro was a joke. I thought you would get a chuckle out of it.
