Cheers mate much appreciated there seems to be so much choice even when on a budget and for a newbie like me it's a bit daunting.
How long have you been flying and what model do you fly.

well i got my first heli when i was 17 im 30 now
iv had loads of concept 30s and nexus 30s even a Morley F1 carbon, caliber 30, twister 3D, now i have a airskipper 50 and a trex(check gallery)

You will find so many models out there that look great and are cheap, but spears back up is the most important thing to look for before buying one, as you know one day you WILL crash, so dont waste money on something u cant get parts for

Good advice, a bit late now for me as i have ordered the model but i'm sure i saw a uk parts supplier earlier on the net and i'm pretty sure you are spot on as far as the crashing situation is concerned, i'll just have to get the missus to do some overtime to pay for all the repairs! only joking.
She thinks as i've just turned 40 i'm having a mid life crisis but i have explained i need a new hobby to keep me out of the pub at the weekends and it will probably cost about the same.

Cheers mate i'm pretty sure i'll be doing some business with them in the near future once i've crashed and burnt a few times (all part of the learning curve though i expect)
Only been involved for about two months now and already spent a small fortune on blades and bits and pieces but quite like a challenge, how long did it take you to get the hang of it.

well when i started i never had a sim, i only just got to use on just before xmas then i bought my self one about a month ago and my flying has come along in leaps and bounds,
thats why i and many others say get a sim as they help u out no end,

it takes time for some people and some people are duck to water,
we have a guy at our club hes only been flying for 7 weeks, hes been on the sim loads before getting hes first heli,

Now get this on hes 2nd weekend of flying he was off training gear and flying circuits, then next week end he was flipping and inverted hovering,
now hes less than a foot of the deck inverted cutting grass and starting to do chaos, tic tocs and now autos hes young but what a bugger he is

Its all part of the fun, just go at ur pace and take ur time and do things when ur ready

Don't know about all that fancy stuff cutting grass and all that i'll probably have people running for cover but i suppose everyone has to start somewhere.
Like you say i will have to go at my own pace hopefully it won't be painfully slow but if so then so be it i'm determined to become competent, must keep out of the pub.

fair play mate
My only fear is that i might hurt someone with my lack of ability at the moment so i think the sim and some lessons would be invaluabe do you know if the ff6 will allow a buddy lead connection.
