Heard a little bit about the lite machine. My cousins looking for a small gas heli. Are they fussy to start.Wanted to know about the engines they come with. Some people put in os .10 with pull start. Is that because there hard to keep running or os.10 have alot more power.Do you need after market engine mount?Wanted to know about the tail also.Do they have a belt upgrade and if they do are they worth it?Why dont I see them on the classified ads?I have the gp500 gas heli with a os .15 and like it but not sure if a lite machine would be better for him.He can hover with no problem at all, side to side, up and down just no circles or eights yet. .I figured he could learn faster on a lite machine.Any input would be nice. Thanks

I have a Corona which is the electric version and it is an awesome heli! The most durable one out there. I've crashed it many times, 50 foot falls, etc. Most of the time, I just straighten the main blades and take off again. In almost two years of flying it, I've spent a whopping $20 in repairs. I would go electric from the start. It flies 12-15 minutes on NIMH which are cheap. And with the durability of the heli, crashing isn't a worry anymore and there is very little down time. Great for learning. As for gas, maybe someone else can comment on it. I know there is a tail belt upgrade but you'll only need that when you get more advanced. It flies fine stock. I'm guessing you don't see them on the classifieds because a Corona isn't the cheapest heli to start with and most people are looking for performance machines. It seems more people are going the route of starting with a Trex. I've owned three Trexes from 450X to SE and I can say they are NO substitute for the Corona. Trexes break at the smallest thing.

These are great to learn on however after several atemps to get the engin to run good enough to even hover I converted to electric and it was up and running in no time. They don't have the best flight charateristics but you will save about a thousand dollars in repairs while learning to fly
