Do you have PCM and if so are the fail safes set up?
If the fail safes are set up with throttle to idle or cut is that what happened?
Did the throttle go to idle before the crash.

You mention that you do not have metal frames, what do you have for frames?
Carbon is also electrically conductive and will cause the same issues as metal frames.

Did you get carried away with control inputs and bog the head?
That was how I just put my 90 in, No fault of the heli, I just got carried away with the inputs and tried to use more power than the engine had to give, it looked very much like a lockout but was just me.

If the throttle did not go to idle then it was not a lockout.
A lockout would have gone to the failsafe settings which should have been engine to idle.
Check the battery, switch, (regulator if you have one), and all wiring and connectors of the electrical power system for problems, It sounds more like the receiver was shut off in flight.
Do you have a heavy duty power switch? It is not that uncommon to have an intermittent switch especially with a standard switch on a heli.
