Well I hate making post like these.....

On Sunday morning I tanked in my Raptor 30V2, I got her all fixed and trimmed in 2 days. Today I went flying with my buddies and all seamed well until my buddy Mike dug in his 30 pretty good, resulting in a re-kit for sure. It was my turn in the rotation so I fired up the Vibe and walked to the pad to set her down, I was having a great day, flying cleaner and harder then I have ever have in the past. I felt good. I flew through 1/2 a tank doing some nice tail slides, loops, rolls, low inverted and even did a wall! I then shot her up into a stall turn 1080 and came out perfect and smooth, then about 15 feet up and 30 yards in front of me she went in knife edge!! Hard!! I don't understand what went wrong?? It was like a link popped off or a servo failed and took her out! It happened so fast I had no time to react!!

So here is the list:

    (1)JR 8311ds gear set
    Main shaft
    Front frame brace
    Fly bar
    Main gear
    Bevel tail gear
    Blades Radix 710's
    Paddles
    Boom
    Boom supports
    Main shaft bearing (top)
Start shaft bearing (don't know if it was due to crash, yet is notchy)
    Blade grips and balls
    Head button
    Feathering shaft
    Dampners (O-rings)
    Washout assy (bent 1 arm)
Thrust bearings and sealed bearings in grips (very notchy)
    Skids
    Canopy
    Double links,Various links...etc

Enjoy these pic's, and excuse me while I go spoil my liver....\"\"

You really wacked that Vibe. Sorry to see but thanks for the pics. It's going to be more than 2 days, I'm guessing.

OUCH!!!! I feel your pain. I just recently crashed my brand new Kngiht 50 3D on it's 3rd flight.

Which servo stripped (aileron, elevator, or pitch)? I had an 8311 strip on me during an easy flight, which resulted in a nasty crash. After that incident I stopped using the 8311's in my heli. I think that the gear set is extremely weak, unless you opt for the metal gears. Good luck with the rebuild.

You know....

I have been fearing this day since the day I brought her home. I always felt nervous and anxiety before every flight, and then relieved after I landed her safely. I know it's just a R/C Helicopter, and that it can be replaced if damaged, but thats just me.

This may sound very strange, but I actually feel better that I have crashed my precious and got it out of the way. I am a major perfectionist and it has haunted me most of my life, and it has brought me a ton of stress and anxiety. After I dug it in I set the Tx down and took a walk, and then felt a huge sigh of relief....

Ok...

I have the damage total with all the parts listed in the first post

$375.00 + Canopy

I could save some extra cash by ordering a FG Vigor CS canopy from Ricks for $20, if they still have some left over, but I will more then likely go with a new Vibe lid.

Wow....whenever I start thinking a 90 size bird is a step I want to take, I see a thread like this.

On the other hand, as 90 crashes go, this isn't so bad. Not cheap by any means, but not nearly as bad as a Vibe crash could be.

All the same, my heart goes out to you. Bring your baby back to good health.

Yeah...it's hard to get by under $500.00 on a 90.

Awwwww man, that's just painful to see. Really sorry about your loss. $375 isn't too shabby though when you consider it's a Vibe and you have $135 worth of blades and paddles in there. What's really scary though is that you don't know what happened to cause the crash. Certainly wouldn't want to repeat it if it can be avoided.

consider yourself lucky!

My son piled his N9 in a couple of weeks ago coming in on an inverted auto. It was really nasty and got the battery and Gyro along with the rest of the normal stuff. That ended up being a VERY EXPENSIVE crash. Not really the Synergy parts that added up it was the other stuff that ran the total. We finally completed repair at $945.00. Now that hurt! Hope you get back in the air soon Jay!

How funny, I'd forgotten about this thread. And I ended up with a Vibe after all. I must not be right in the head.
