| I think it's great little machine. For some unknown reason, the idea of a 450 size nitro powered heli appeals to me, after I read the test in RC-Heli I knew I had to have one.
Is it for everyone? No, not by a long shot. If you're into 3D flying, you'll probably quickly get bored with the Zoom. While it performs well for what it is, it really isn't a high performance machine. Beside the Zoom I also have a Trex 450 SE and a Raptor 30. The Zoom can pretty much do whatever the Raptor can if you you're careful about collective management, neither machine has a surplus of power. The Zoom will turn quicker than the Raptor simply because it's smaller and lighter, they're probably fairly close in the power to weight department.
Compared to the Trex, the Zoom isn't even close in ability. Doesn't mean that the Zoom is any less fun to fly, just that it needs to be flown with a different mindset, things that are a piece of cake with the Trex probably shouldn't be attempted with the Zoom in stock form.
The only real downside to the Zoom that I can see is the cost. The Pro version is not a cheap machine and by the time you get it outfitted with decent electronics, you can easily have $1000 or more tied up in it. For someone that doesn't mind the cost and is looking for a small nitro heli that is unique and performs well with little maintenance, then the Zoom may well be the machine you want.
