So who is distribuiting this hehi in USA?

I am checking the E-Sky G SMART .18 heli. and the good thing is that BPHobbies has the spare parts or moss of them since the electric version is almos similar. I e-mail BPHobbies and they toll me that in a few weeks they will be selling it.

Here's a link to a build thread and a video of the maiden:

right guys
firstly thanks forthe support here
Just got back from work, try to diguest and read all your advice

1. @ brod : My low needle ...how can I only try around with the low needle first? get it right then start on the high needle ??
i dont undertsand how this is possible
the low needle sttings are not for flying ???

2. @ flying scrap
sould i try this ?
100 75 50 75 100 .

Quote
witch stops it over reving in the middle, the engine
hangs on the pipe
so you don't loose HS but you don't
over rev.

What please does this [in bold] mean in normal english :O)

return to factory setting ...now thats what i thought before the weekend and I did so
High speed needle :
Manual says
if you forgot or lost the high speed needle factory setting
Screw the needle n completely without tightening and loose by 2 revolutions ...I done so ..

Low needle
it says in the manual:
factory settings should be when the screw is flush wth the motor ...and it was ..I know have fiddled with it over the weekend and I actually happy with my low needle settings ..
I have no idea if this is correct but low needle setting (idle) sound good
I have atv
normal :
12 25 50 75 100 I never flyb with Normal .same goes for my e-helis
So i don't really bother with it

i set the 1st point to 12% because then the engine starts fine and revs not too high ergo doesn't engage the clutch
If i want to make sure the fuel is stopped to engine i use my throttle hold and the atv is set to 0 meaning the needle is completely closed
My idle up is as mentioned before
80 78 75 78 80
I done this by removing the front throttle servo and tray holder then you can see ..This I done and marked the frame on the side to show when servo is at 1/4 and 1/2 ..
i been told these are the important settings
Low needle regulates up to 1/4 throttle ..so in idle not engaging the clutch so no blades spinning. The High speed needle is for the rest so 1/4 to full throttle ..(@ brod : that's why i don't understand your suggestion fly and set low needle 1st )

probably all Wong but for help i wont bother my LHS anymore
he told me to use 15% nitro and use a no3 glow plug whilst setting up my motor
none of these were correct and finally using a no8 the engine sounds much cleaner so i wont bother him again for advice
i rather learn myself

Now all this completely wrong :O)))
let me know

THANKS !!!!

Hi,sounds like your low is ok,if it pulls nicely from a idle into a smooth rev. it is.The low is the most obvious one.If it is a fair bit out the motor will splutter. The factory settings are probably right, remember when it gets a bit warmer you will have to richen a touch. The low will take you further than 1/4 thr.
If power is still down on big climb outs adjust the high a tiny bit at a time till it has smooth pullouts.patience is the game here.
I've been tinkering with my gasser mixtures for about 3hrs now and have just about got it right.
It is quite hard with a heli, unlike a prop on a plane, one just stands behind it and adjusts for full power, dead easy.
Dont be afraid to run 100% at the thr.extremes,if its reving when back to a hover when flying high, reduce point 3 and 4 a bit.
I set N headspeed lower than idle 1 and flick it back when doing some slow low flying and back to idle 1 when i go for high stuff.
remember the smaller glow motors will be a bit finicky to set headspeed perfect unlike the larger ones.
Do you have web page link for the manual?

Well i ll try ...:O)

Manual:

http://b2b.promodels.be/Files/instr...anual%20web.pdf

I really belive the low settings are right! its soo smooth to almost half throttle then it switches and i can hear this for sec
So no probem that I have 12% on 1st point ..thast OK in IC setup to have anything else then 0 at point one on the normal curve ?

The high needle needs tinkering ..
I ll try to run it
100 75 50 75 100
I dont have a idle 2 and i dont like having the problem that too much negative could end in disaster .Thats why i fly in idle up

Deffinately have now the probem of high rev at middle stick ..so i try to combat that 1st . I ll report back ...maybee some time Thursday after work to fly ...
The High Needle is a Bast@#$

brod the manual is at( protech.be ) go to the heli page
it's top right.
try the throttle curve in idle up i put it in mine
and was very happy with it flies great
it does sound like you are running a bit lean
get some 20% fuel in it and open up the main
needle go for cool power or magnam fuel it helps
cool the engine and give more power
when i say hang on the pipe,it is a tuned pipe
that tends to hold the rpm a bit like a govenor.
it's what you did before govenors came out

contact303 we both posted at the same time
i have a very important question!!
DO YOU HAVE IDLE UP'S
because you cannot start it with a
100 50 100 throttle curve you will cut
your bloody hand off
and what is your pitch curve mine is +10 -10

Right you are 20% ?? i try that ...
Maybee even 16% isnt enough

normal throttle is 12 25 50 75 100
i dont use it but read above i said all this before
idle up I try your settigns now but i still dont hold much hope
the problem stays NOT ENOUGH power when i tank it full
And if i would to change the needle on the full tank then maybee get it running it would SCREAM and over speed as soon as the tank goes below half ...
I said that before as well
the problem is inconsistency on the motor
When it runss nice and with power then i tank and its lame again
below half tank it has power again
I ll try and let you know

TX is a MX12 so only one idle up ..

just a quicky
reADY For tomorrow
I got mysef 25% nitro ...
the LHS ddnt have any 20% well he did but the oil content was too low and the 25% i got has a fairly high Oil content so ill seewhat the temp will be like ...when flying but Power should have now

Am i right in thinking
flying scrap you fly 20% ...?

i do only use 20% magnum now in the zoom but
i have tried from 15 to 30% i started on 16%
quick start, but that seemed a bit gummy? (best
word i could think of) and didn't let the motor
rev out. next i got a pot of 25% car fuel i used
one tank an dumped the rest, it was over heating
an not nice at all, so i tried some 30% bekra
that ran a bit harsh and used the fuel really
quick
so i tried the 20% magnum now my motor runs cool
and kicks out enough power (not loads)it is only
a tiny motor.but it's screamin now

Yes your right
if you get 25% you ahve to amke sure it has a High Oil content
Thats why i opted for the 25%
LHS did have 20% but honestly i belive it s would be worse becaue the oil content was very low on the 20% so i believe i am better of with 25% with high content.

rIGHT ....
i BEEN HAVING A BALLWITH THIS HELI ...
Now i want a bigger engine ..
I ll try a 15 ST

X-RACE PRO 15 ST

Type X-race Pro 15 SR
Cylinder volume 2,49 cm3
Power 0,9 kW/1,2 pk
rev. 28.000 omw./min.
15,0 mm
14,1 mm
Weight 297 g

looked at the dimensions and I rekon it fits :O)

only issue i se with them Car engines is the crank shaft they seem to be threadet at the engine not at the far end . Like Hee :

http://www1.nl2.conrad.com/xl/2000_...B_00_FB.EPS.jpg

dimensions are a bit bigger but I am sure it can be madeto fit ...

Or easier ... would be this one

It has the same dimensions so a straight forward swap...

http://www1.nl2.conrad.com/xl/2000_...B_00_FB.EPS.jpg

But this one I guess is just about the same thats in there so .?

lets hear it! anyone thinking about a .15 or someting to stuff in this little bird ?

hi, the first photo you showed is a SG crank that
will not fit. you need a 15 or 18 with a standard
crank, there are some around i got an .18 off ebay
with a standard crank and a pull start on it. i
have taken the pull start off and cut the little
pin off the back of crank and put a OS 15 back
plate on it, and it fit great.the motor i got was
a vertex but team infinity also do a motor that
will fit i am still using the 12 at the moment
but will upgrade later in the year

One thing i'm wondering 'bout is, do the hs56hb servo's fit well?
I mean, without having to modify too much...

Kind Regards..!

Hi guys

sorry for the late reply ..Been on HOLIDAY :O))))
@TrexzNL
The 56's Servos Fit perfect ...They are the exact size ...so no cutting needed at all

Now My motro has had it :O(( need a repalment FAST
The Crank snapped off clean and I got no idea If or how this could be replaced
So the straight replacement is an option
http://www1.nl2.conrad.com/xl/2000_...B_00_FB.EPS.jpg

But i really want something with more power ...So i am searching :O)

I ll take some pics and let you see the carnage ..basically the crank snapped and popped off in hover
Lucky it didn't hit the blades and the heli just kinda fell 2mtrs ..No further damage

Hi guys, I've read through the thread and you all seem to be having a ball.... wish i could say the same thing, all setup and ready to go, filled up with magnum 12% which is what I use for my raptor and is the only fuel I have apart from some tornado 16% car fuel. New OS 8 plug, fully charged plug heater throttle open a little, factory set needles and cranked it over.......Nothing not a jot.

I have double checked everything and then re-checked, made sure there are no blockages or leaks tried another new plug and also the tornado fuel, I ran trucks for several years so know a little but this has me pulling my hair out. Compression is good, plug is definately heating but it just won't fire.

Any ideas ????

Cheers, fixxxer.

it sounds like your not getting fuel.
have you checked the pressure nipple
in the exhaust. i had one full of locktite
an the engine couldn't suck up the fuel.

Iam no good on IC engines so I cANT HELP THERE my self I am a nitro newbee so my advice wont be any use i guess ...:O( One small tip though ..When I run it on 16% it still didn't have enough power so i don't think you ll have much fun , even if you get it running with 12% nitro
try to get some 205 with high Oil content to keep it cool
I run 25% 12% oil and it works a treat ...At least I think so ..
No idea how I managed to break it so maybe i am completely wrong but for me this works fine

Now, I have ordered the replacement engine 79 EUR ...
Its this one
http://www1.nl2.conrad.com/xl/2000_...B_00_FB.EPS.jpg

Hope it gets here tomorrow because I am of until Monday still Holiday

Just a quick Holiday snap ,,,ahhh it was indeed very nice ...

Another day of trying to start my engine with no luck, fuels getting thru no probs so I've given up for now and emailed protech heli division to see what they think. I've never had an engine in over 10 years that I couldn't get going.... until now
