Finally got my servos for cyclic and collective. Wooo Hoooo! I decided on ACE DS1015s. I could not pass up on the awesome specs, the great price, the sharp looks (Look at that aluminum case!), and lot's of recommendations. I will not be wanting for torque with these servos! Now I have everything for this bird.

The servos look even better in real life than they do in their advertising pictures. The case is a nice chunk of rigid aluminum with fins cut into it. So much better than any other case I've seen. And all the hardware uses hex heads and not philips, even the servo horn bolt.

And of course you can't argue with the specs:

201 oz-in Torque and .11 sec @ 6V.

I did a simple math analysis, and the specs at 4.8 volts are:

159 oz-in Torque and .13 to .14 sec.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet !!!!!

Now to finish this build and get this bird in the air!!

159 oz of torque?

WOW, you should have no problems flipping the Hurrican with that much torque on the servos, let us know how it feels in the air

Hey Chuck - good hearing from you!

I'm waiting on the man in brown to deliver the final things for the Hurrican. Should be on my doorstop tonight when I get home.

Unfortunately, it is comming out a bit tail heavy with the original bettery I bought for it. So I am going to have to use a bigger battery to balance it. Right now it looks like she is going to come in at about 8 lbs and a couple of ounces.

For comparison, I have the Raptor 50 down to 7 lbs, 12 ounces and she is balanced. She was at 8 lbs 4 ozs with MA 90 landing gear (nice and wide for Mandy) and a sub-C RX battery, but she was nose heavy. So I put her on a diet, replaced the landing gear with Align 600 gear (100+ gram savings!), and brought her under the 8 lb mark.

The project Mandy and I are working on finished last Thursday.

Suddenly we will have weekends again! Therefore, we are planning on comming out to Ave B and re-introducing ourselves and flying with you guys!
