Gohbee Aviation Stinger 30-90 > Will a Raptor swash work on a Gohbee?

Hi All,

I am rebuilding my Gohbee 50 and the swash was worn out. I tried a Raptor swash but there seems to be interference on the links. The Raptor swash (inner portion) is a bit smaller in diameter.

So my question is, what do I do to get it to work? According to David at Gohbee the Raptor swash should work.

The Raptor swash will work but the cyclic will be slower due to the smaller inner ring and as you have noticed there will be some interference issues to work out. But yes it can be made to work.
I tried a Raptor metal swash on my Stinger once but did not like it and put on another Gohbee swash.
Swash plates do wear out and have to be replaced periodically.

I don't know that there is an "average" lifetime.
The life of everything on a heli is very dependent on how it is set up, maintained, and flown.
I always have a spare of any wear parts on hand as well as all of the common crash parts. This way I can just replace as soon as slop starts to show up, whether the slop came from normal wear or an unauthorized landing orientation.

hi

i'm using a world uk cnc swashplate(35 $) for raptor on my gohbee 50,,there is no difference in the cyclic,,installed it and my aleiron and elevator pitch was the same,,,cyclic has to do with your set up and head speed,,nothing else,,,,i fly against a few titans at my field ,,my gohbee is faster than those titans in every way,,1950 headspeed does not hurt either,,, if your running a plastic or composite swashplate,,get rid of it,,

I completely agree.
Having shorter lever lengths is a significant part of the "setup".
I have never had or even seen a World UK swash in person so I do not now what the inner ring vs. outer ring ratio is. I do know that a stock Raptor swash has a slower ratio than a stock Gohbee swash.
That ratio does have a significant impact on the setup and thus the cyclic. It is possible to make other adjustments in the setup to get most of the same feel back.

I have not found anyone yet that can tell the difference in flight between a plastic vs a metal swash that is of the same dimensions.

Yes Gohbee does sell an all metal CNC swash, and other than the bling factor, I have never recommended a metal swash to anyone.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I ordered a new swash from Gohbee, as "working it out" really means messing with a most important control factor!

Regarding plastic vs a metal swash; they all seem to use the same bearings, so why pay more for something that will wear out???

I had probably 8 gallons thru the thing. I guess that is not bad, since it was the only noticable worn part.

Now I have two Raptor swashes to return!

basically,,if you want to have a more precise heli or flying hard 3d ,,anything plastic has to go,,can't beat the cnc,,,
