I am having a brain fart, upgraded pc at home to "Outlook 6" and it won't let me open any attachments new or ones I have already opened.
How do I correct this?
Thanks

A .44 magnum will help...

I just had someone report this in MS "Lookout" ver 6.
Their program key (attachment) is greyed out.
I dont have v6 but I found the solution.

Common issue.

i) Go to Tools > Options > Security
ii) uncheck "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially
be a virus.

Try that.

Cheers

Would not need anything that big It could be taken care of with a glass of water, or a baseball bat, or a .22 but that would not correct my problem just cause more problems

Do you mean Outlook express 6?

Open outlook, click on tools, go to options, click on the security tab and unselect the "Do not allow attatchments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" check box.

Thanks Dave, do I have to reboot for that to take effect? I found that and unchecked it but it did not help and I had to leave for work so did not have time to try the reboot before I left.

Yeah but a 44 magnum is the way Clint Eastwood would have taken care of the problem

Terry

You probably do need a reboot being MS software v6 may run some mail server thing outside of itself and need a restart.

let me know if that doesnt solve it
I need to resolve this for my software users anyway so Ill chase it up via normal sources used.
