I was checking the size of the stock tank and I realized the Nalgene bottle is 16 oz. No wonder my 20 oz Vigor 91 tank lasts longer.

I went to the Nalgene website and unfortunately the next size up is 32oz. So it ocurred to me that if I got the 8oz one I could end up with 24oz which is about the right size for a 90 ship.

I got one at a local store for $1.15 and, since the Fury has a tendency to be nose heavy, I installed it in the back of the frame. I bolted an aluminum landing skid bracket to hold a G10 rectangle where I straped it in place. I connected it so that it fills last and empties first into the main tank. We'll see how it works at the Vegas Fun Fly.

Yes David what a shame isn't it?
I was looking for a 24'ish bottle but they just jump to 32.
I was also thinking that maybe I could use some other helicopter's tank. I tried the Vigor's and it works but it's still 20 ounces. Any ideas?

That is a good idea to use the vigor tank in the Fury. Does anyone have a vigor tank and can measure its width (length)? I am curious if it will fit in the SE sideways as opposed to forward/back like in the Fury. It makes sense that it holds more as the Nalgene tank wastes valuable space with the large cap. Let me know- might be buying a vigor tank soon!

Fury Tank

Hi Guy,

FYI, the stock Fury tank actually hold 20.5 oz's the 16 oz rating from Nalgene is if you stop filling in the rectangle part like the one in the picture with the yellow stuff in it? I just tried it to make sure I had an extra tank laying around and it is 20.5 ozs so it hold .5oz more than the Vigor tank.

Now I wonder how much the 8 oz actually is. If we go with the same ratio then the 8oz should be 10.25 oz for a total of 30.75 oz on both tanks. I wonder what flight time should I get now.

Wow, looks awesome. I would say this is probably a YS80 only mod as I dont know if a non-pressurized fuel supply would have enough power to draw from 2 tanks. Are you drawing from them in series? Which empties first?

That's an OS-91 so it's not pressurized with the crankcase but with the muffler.
The extra tank fills the main tank so it's not a header tank but an extra one.

Yes they are. I just wanted to make double-sure that It wouldn't come off while doing some crazy stunt. At the time I didn't know that if you CA the rubber grommets to the canopy then they don't break.
