First try and I had a terrible-total-destruction crash on the maiden flight, battery came loose and hit the blades.

So, now the bird is rebuilt, did some mods to shave of weight and I changed the motor.

Ive cut away some plastic, removed as much as I could without destroying stability.
AUW: 5350 grams (11.8 lb) (gonna save another 100 when I get a FRP canopy)

Here is some pictures and a eagletree recording of a short test-flight.
Setup is used with 12s1p 3700's

With my mods the batteries fits nicely inside the frame.

About 2/3 of a mikado alu motor mount with some spacers on the side, fits nicely inbetween the frame.
Best part, is that my new Neu 1915/1.5Y having a very long shaft, so I didnt need to extend the shaft, just changed the upper bearing to a 6x19x5 (from boca) and used a Mikado 10T pinion.

Powerjazz upside down inside frame, protected and away from the batteries.

another view of the motor mount.

So, first test-flight with some collective punchouts.
How long the lipo will survive, thats anyones guess
This is with 95T main and 10T pinion.

Hoi,

Are those peaks of 3900 watt

Looking nice

Maybee some weight saving without those metal blade grips, witch are not realy neccesary.

Lipo's will not be a issue, only fligttimes wil be short.

Maiden it today.

HS was too low, 1800, cyclic speed terrible.

Video: http://www.dacsa.net/heli/r90/raptor90divx.avi

Peak watts was 3600
Batteries was barely warm after the flight.

Here's mine that's going in an MD-500. Draws 27amps in hover. Actro 32-3, 95T main and 9T E-rap pinion. Mavrick 720s, GT500 gyro w/JR9000s, 3-9252s, and Koolflight UBEC. She weighs in at 10.5lbs.

Guys i'm over the moon someone has done this e-conversion for the big Rappy.

I'm very interested in more info.

I am leaning towards turning my 90se into the TT Augusta 109 Power.

If there is a chance of getting rid of those pesky exhaust fumes i'll be chuffed to bits.

I've got minimal knowledge and experience of electric powered helis so i'd be a total newbee to this.

Swapped mine to a old style Logo 8T pinion(2 pinions one up and one down) and 95T main headspeed dropped down to 1700rpm and dropped 3amps in hover.

Tried 8S with the 8T pinion and 95T main gear. Headspeed is 1450 and hover amp draw is 18!!!! I actually got an increase in runtime as long as I don't hammer on the collective. This is gonna work great in the MD-500 fuse!

You think 12s 5000 would work on this heli? Or any 90 size e-heli?

I don't know why yours came out too heavy Mr Mel. Mine only weighed 10.5lbs with 10S 4200mah battery setup as a pod and boom. I wouldn't think that would be too heavy. Seeing as most glow 90s weigh in around 11-12lbs. Mine flys great and cant wait to get the MD500 fuse on it.

Here's a shot of the MD-500 fuse in the air. She wasn't quite done yet. She's missing a couple windows and missle pods.
