Jason Krause was flying his graphite 91 Fury with a 401 for a while. Todd Bennett is flying his school machines with 401's and 9202s and a 1500 pack and geting ten flights off one, i saw it with my own eyes. My jaw dropped open whe i saw it.

The 9253 is a low torque servo, and will work just fine if the tail has thrust bearings. I don't know if I would try that servo on a 60 or 90 size tail without thrust bearings. But heck -- what do I know -- It would PROBABLY work just fine.

I have flown many gallons through a vigor, freya, and bergen gas withthe 401 9253 combo. It worked fine with all of those combos.

J.Saleska is right, it'll be fine as long as you have thrust bearing in the tail blade grips. I found this out the hard way. I have an X-Cell ST that I've been modifying for the past year and a half as money permits. I recently switched from a CSM540/JR8417 combo to the 401/9253. I found that the tail would swing a bit during full collective takeoffs. When I went searching as to why mine does this but nobody else I know has the same problem I found that my ST didn't come equiped with thrust bearings in the t/r grips. The 8417 had enough torque to overcome this but the 9253 doesn't. Needless to say a set of thrust bearings are on the way.

I have an older XL with the dampened tail, it only has 1 BB and a thrust BB as well on ea. grip not a triple BB setup like the new models. Is it still ok to run a 502/9253 setup with my setup or do I need a solid mount tail(no dampening), and triple BB setup also or is it aok? Thanks, Dave
