Yes that should be the engine.
Quick Japan even has a special muffler for it.

Yes, it's the engine that I saw in the heli at HHI on Saturday.

No heat sink, and not a lot of power. Of course, time will tell if it is enough to fly the heli with any measure of performance.

The car engines have a nice heat sink on them, but most also have a slide valve carb, not good....

Ahhh. I just interpreted what you said a little differently. I thought you were trying to say that the CVA was a buggy motor, but that it turned fast and you thought it was going to overheat. Makes more sense now.

Thanks, John Cadwell

It will be fun to see what engines people will put in this little guy. Since nobody, (that I know of), makes a 15 or 21 size heli engine, I'm sure people will be experimenting with all sorts of combinations.

Time will tell.

I even have a Norvel that might fit.

Ordering a Quick 15

you can order it from hobbies and Helis International. The web address is: http://www.hhiheli.com

They are filling orders pretty fast, so you might want to hurry. He told me that they are just starting to assemble the kits for shipping and expect them to start shipping them out in 2-3 weeks.

Good luck!

Jim!

The information is not up on the site yet.

I think he still needs to take pics of the heli and format the pages.

Redesign Wish List

Rotate Motor 180 degrees, so the head points forwards. Mount Fuel tank right under mainshaft, so you can actually see it easily in a hover from the back.

Capture the bottom of the mainshaft with a bearing block.

Provisions for Mini Servos?

Does the shroud actually cover the engine's head?

All in all a nice looking piece. Intriguing.

Thanks, John Cadwell

cool little heli

I like it a lot, looks like a birthday present for me this year, he he, On the cooling shroud is it away from the head of that .15 to allow up to a bigger engine and with a .15 is the cooling going to be enough, just an observation.

From seeing it, it looks like the cooling shroud is spaced like that to allow for space for a buggy engine.

I heard that the heli was designed for this, but Jon can confirm this one way or another.

ok

I was wondering that, would be pretty awsome to use a .21 buggy engine, , fun , fun , fun!
