Just preordered my Knight 50 3D . I am really excited about this heli. I have always wondered when a "baby" Aurora would come out. Hopefully it flies as good as it looks. This will be my first Compass Heli ans I am definitely looking forward to it.

Just got my Knight Pro (all metal) flying, with the help of a friend who has owned and worked on numerous Knights in the past it flew perfectly on its first flight
Not sure how the Knight 3D compares but if it's anywhere close to the pro version then you've got a damn nice machine there.
Let us know how you get on with it.

My local hobby store RCHeliworks has just become a dealer for the Knight and I think I managed to talk the owner Chris into letting me have the 1st Knight 3D he gets, which I'm hoping will be Tuesday.
I'm really looking forward to this heli, it looks awesome.

I think once I get it I'll try and do a build thread here on RunRyder.

rcstyx try calling Chris at RCHeliworks.net, I'm sure he'll be able to help you out get A Knight 3D quickly. He is open today.

tnbulldog is correct he is getting the first production one in the us, he is going to be doing a review and build thread it is going to be posted on rr and the rcheliworks web site

You can preorder them Knight 50 3D from RCHeliWorks. You may want to do it immediately. They told me they only expected t receive 5 of them on the initial order. I believe I was the 4th to place the preorder.

How are you gonna equip your Knight 50 3D?

I am planning on 9252's for the cyclic
9254's for the throttle and the CSM 720 gyro
Arizona Reg. with pin flag switch
7.2v 2400 Relion battery
Radix 600 mm mains and 95 mm tail blades
OS 50 Hyper (of course)
Either the JK Hatori pipe or the Funtech 50 Type R

And since it appears that the Knight 50 3D doesn't come with aluminum tail grips, I am going to use my prototype Kasama Tail grips on her. I may also order the aluminum tail box for the regular Knight 50's as well.

Will let you know how everything goes once I get it.

I'm almost going the have the same setup:-

9252's on cyclic
611 gyro
Revmax
Hopefully Fromeco Li-Ion and regulator, if the funds will stretch
Hyper 50 with Hatori SB50 JK
Probably Radix or V-Blades for the blades

Everything else will be left stock so I can see how well it performs.

I had to promise Chris at RCHeliworks a build thread to get the No.1 bird, I'm sure it will be worth it though.

Ade Law flying his 3d for the first time today. I had a flight on it. Im very impressed its fast on the collective, fast on the cyclics, and fast through the air. but still manages to track straight and true.

Where do you go fly normally? This will be good to have someone close by that have the Knight 3D. I usually go to Alvin. I have been to TX Cty. I have heard that a bunch of heli guys go to Tom Bass but I have not been up there myself.

I just moved back to New Orleans from Houston (Stafford actually) back in September '06. While I was out there for the year after Katrina, I became a member at Tom Bass and flew there every Sunday. Tom Bass definitely has the largest heli crowd in the Houston Area. About 40 of the 65 members of the club are heli pilots. We usually had 10-20 heli guys show up every Sunday, weather permitting. All that is required to fly there is a current AMA membership. You do not have to join the club, but for only $20/year I thought that it was a great deal to join plus the money went toward field improvements. You should go out there and ask for Eric or Kyle and tell them that Gary from New Orleans sent you. I still talk to them on a regular basis.

Later and be sure to try to attend our 1st Fun Fly out here. you can read all about it here. The fun fly is scheduled for March 31 - April 1, 2007. Hope some of you other Knight 50 guys can come as well.

I generally fly at Texas City RC club. It's close to me plus there's plenty of room. I'm still a beginner as far as flying goes but my girl decided to buy it for me for my birthday which is coming up. (She had to top the diamond earrings I got for her for her's.) I am still really new to this hobby. I've only been flying about 2 months. I've been flying with Steve and Mike out at Texas City. Those guys have a wealth of knowledge. Steve being mainly nitro and Mike is mainly electric. I'm going to set this one up and do what I did with my 450. I set it all up, get it trimmed out and then have Mike or Steve give it a good once over to check it. But other then having those guys to help out I'm still a noob.
