e-Lite Machines Corona > Setup Help needed!~ (pics)

I just built up my LMH Corona heli and am having some setup problems, which is messing up my attempts to learn to hover. As you can see in the pic, the linkage above the swash plate is not even nor is it Ever parrallel with the swash plate. Is this normal? I cant think of a way to fix this. The swash plate is resting on the bearing block and cannot go up or down, just side to side (fixed pitch). ANy ideas??

Also- I am using a GY-240, but its not doing a good job of keeping my tail steady. I have AVCS on, and the gain is set to 50%. The tail is all over the place when flying.

Last question- This may be related the the gyro issue... My rudder servo is not working properly. Its a brand new HS-81 micro. I have it on normal settings on my Flash 5 radio. The problem is that it moves VERY slowly compared to the other servos. Why is this?? I was thinking it could be related to the gyro?

Thanks for the help!

Possible help

Does the rudder servo move at regular speed with AVCS off? I do believe the gyro slows the rudder servo response down when in AVCS mode on.

There is no nicwe way to say this... But your a DORK!

Take a look at the photo... You have your gyro mounted on it's side!!!!!!

The gyro, as it is now, is set up to work with the elevator function. That's a big no no.

The gyro must be mounted on the YAW axis. To do this, you must rotate the servo 90 degrees so the top (the side with the name on it) is facing up.

P.S. The only reason I called you a dork is because I did the same thing on my first helicopter and the guy who corrected the problem called me a dork as well.

You are right! I just got back from flying outside after fixing the gyro (i actually noticed it before i read this post)

Heli flies GREAT!! Just have to fix some trims and i should be good. Didnt think hovering would be "this" easy with gyro correctly installed, hehe

THANKS

Why did you bend your elevator rod that way? Straight rods will not give under pressure. That one will bend for sure.

The swash should be resting on the ball joint.

Push the mainshaft lower in the frames to level out the follower arm.

The corona is a fixed pitch heli. Rotor speed controls ascent/descent. The swash should not raise or lower but should pivot easily on the bearing block ball.

Are your rudder ATV's @ 100%?

And not eloquently stated, but yes the gyro is mounted 90 degrees off axis.

Good luck!

I thought making the rod straight would be best, but the manual advised to bend it like i did, although mine is alittle overdone....

Does the follower arm have to actually be parallel to the swashplate? I adjusted the linkage so the rotor head and guide arm things are parallel as advised in the manual so it shouldnt matter, right?

i'll try lowering it, cant believe i didnt think of that! Thanks alot!

Everything parallel or 90 degrees will make it fly best.

On the elevator rod I ran mine straight until it hit the crown gear then bent it out 45 degrees fo 1/2" then bent it to the original direction to the swash.

If you go over 45 degrees it is like a wet noodle under load.

Wow. Sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words.

If you were able to hover with the gyro mounted sidways, that makes you a Dork who is pretty good on the sticks!

If i remember correctly, those rods were bent from the factory on the LMH110, figure theyd be the same for the corona!

On page 13-1 of the manual they tell you to "bend to fit" the control rod.

I looked at the diagram and the other one on page 13-2 and bent it to look like they did.
