Went to a funfly and flew the hell out of my Freya, got back to my parents house who have a great field to fly in. Went out flew a couple of times and see a black object shoot off the heli... Lost a paddle, noticed a slight vibration and that was it, brought it back down safely.

I haven't checked the tightness on the two set screws in quite a while... Think I may have stripped one and kind of shrugged it off. Every little nut and bolt on these things is critical!

OS91 in the Freya is still kicking behind! I'm at 11.5 degrees both ways and it won't bog unless I really really try to.

Loose stuff

Mike,

I know what you mean about checking all the little stuff. Even though I pre-flight often, there were those two allens for the flybar cage that I just never checked. Then one day the heli starts to fly like a Mack truck and I bring it into a close, tail in hover and wag the cyclic. The flybar plane turns into a 2 inch black disk as the paddles went nearly perpendicullar. This is one you can chalk up to pure luck, cause they don't fly well without a flybar and I didn't crash.

Neglecting rotating parts and anything pertaining to the rotor head/flybar will cost you$$$. Modern heli's are defintely more reliable and need less maintenance these days, but none the less they still need to be maintatined and checked up on every now and then.
