I thought it might of interest to someone to post some pics of the field box I just built (winter prject). I uploaded 4 pics in my gallery (Ron Cosby). It is all aluminum, has 2 drawers, a bottom compartment for my transmitter and enough room for starter and all the other things I carry. The power panel and battery is a self contained unit and can be removed with 2 thumb screws. I put a field charger in the lid above the fuel can.The box is 15in tall x 16in deep and weighs about 25 pound with fuel and all. It fits in the back of my Corvette easily.
BTW, I bought a "Boxxer" fuel pump, it works great and should never leak since the pump is isolated from the fuel.

Maybe this will give others some ideas for yet a better field box.

Perhaps we'll be seeing boxes made of graphite or G10 next?

For the price of Carbon Graphite a box like that would be $400.00+! But that would be small change compared to the cost of Hernia repair if you tried to pick one up made from G-10:eek Chris:
