Below is the ad that I ran in Ebay in search of the rightful owner of a lost Thunder Tiger that landed in my yard. A great many responsible people have rendered a lot of help in trying to find the owner of this expensive toy. And I am very appreciateve of theri concern and help. However, there a few naysayers (thankfully a small minority of nitwits) who refuse to belive that it is nothing more than a scam. For them, I submit the following: The Raptor landed with minimal damage to itself, and without any damage whatsoever to my property or members of my family. So the insinuation that I am seeking damages in this effort has no merit. And for the individual that questions the fact that my terminolgy belies my statement that I know nothing about these things, let me say that I probably have more time in the air as a crewman in military whirlybirds (l957-1967) than this punk has on the ground trying to fly his toys. 'Nuf said about that stuff. I will give about six weeks to the effort of finding the rightful owner. If unable to locate him/her after that time I will list it on ebay as an auction item. At this point I have canclled bids (seven bidders) who failed to understand or read the presnt listing. In the mean time I wish to thank the many, many people who sent along advice, their nice remarks and willingness to help.
Harvey N.

Here is the Ebay listing:
A helicopter landed in my yard in El Cajon, California. ( on or about January 4th or 5th 2007) Found in a hedge, out of fuel, this little puppy looks expensive and is certainly a loss to someone. Anyone who can give me a proper description of this bird can email back with their phone number and we will make arrangements to return it to the proper owner. It appears to be without any serious damage. I know nothing about these things, but I am sure the rightful owenr would like to have it back. I would expect the owner to reimburse me for this listing which should be about a buck or less. No photo for obvious reasons. Give a detailed description you will get it back. Don't bother making any bids on this item. It's not for sale.

Hey Harvey.....I say after you give this thing the time to play out, "try too find the real owner" and no one claims it....I think you should give this hobby a try, you would already have a headstart owning a very good RC copter...and anything you would want to learn or know about them can be found on this site. If you find out its not for you then sell it on E-bay...good luck on whatever you decide!

You're a helluva guy Harvey! Nice gesture and hope get connected with the owner.

This board has over 39,000 registered members. You would sure think that someone knows someone who knows someone on here.

Amazingly Harvey, this board seems to have more than it's fair share of nitwits sometimes!

Good luck! And if time passes and you don't find the owner then let's pour some fuel in the damn thing and take it for a spin!!!!

You posted any notices locally... in the supermarkets?
I can't believe the owner of a heli couldn't be real close to you.

I agree that if he does not find the rightful owner in a given time period, he should try the hobby himself. It would be nice to have another honest person in the ranks.

Hello.

I am interested in buying this heli...is it for sale?

Just kidding! I know it is not for sale and I hope it finds its owner.

I agree that you should give the hobby a try Harvey!

What you are doing to find the actual owner is awsome! Hope if I ever loose one that Harvey finds it

I think if you gave it a try Harvey, you would see that they are FAR from a toy. I have had tons of hobbies and this one is the best by far!

This is very cool of you.

Let me hazard a guess as to what came crashing down your hedge:

Raptor 30 V2
Stock orange stickers
Wood Blades
TT39 motor w/ TT muffler
Futaba receiver
Futaba servos Futaba Gyro
wooden training gears

There are not many persons out there like you. Congratulations. Its nice to see there are some good people in the world. I imagine that some would just grab the heli and do a quick sell or they would take it down to the shooting track and tape it being shot down.

I hope the true owner will pop up shortly.

I know some folks that tried the heli hobby and lost it on their first flight... I doubt those ones have even heard of RR... Maybe its a tuff task afterall?

Just a thought.....

A similar post on www.rcuniverse.com and on www.helifrea(k).com may yield a broader contingent.....

You'll need to take the (k) out of the parenthesis to form the word without any spaces and place that site's address in a new URL window.....

I also applaud you on your efforts and say to take the negative comments you have received for what they are worth..... nothing...

Good luck and let us know if you find the owner...

Well, I few month ago a friend was flying a Raptor 60 in forward fly when the radio (Fuataba PCM) stop working and this thing fly away. I promess you that this thing was with the fuel tank full and fly away on the sea direction untill we dont see it any more.......I am pretty sure it got to an dessert island :-)

So maybe a similar thing happend to this heli.

Wonder is dakine and switch26 are going to get on here and say that hrvestuff is still trying to scam someone into paying for damages. Ahh the RR paranoia.....ain't it great.

Outstanding job trying to find the owner. Harvery is definately a class act.

Maybe it's an omen....

You wake up and find a fine RC helicopter laying in the yard....Obviously you feel morally obligated to find the rightfull owner...if that fails ....perhaps the heli was actually looking for you.. Time to take up a new hobby perhaps..

I emailed him and told him he was a great guy for doing this too and suggested he join us. But bout everything else I wonder if some newb trying to learn to fly lost it and just said to heck with it all. When I was with a buddy when I was a kid he had a nice .60 plane with everything. We went to fly it and it took off and just went off over the horizon. After it was gone he just laughed handed me the TX and said enjoy your new plane. I actually found it 7 blocks away in someones back yard 3 days later. Never flew it but that was what happened.
