| I've broken bothI've used both, wasted both. I'd say they are more or less the same strength; the Tuff Struts are maybe a touch tougher.
I see it as a tradeoff between price and ease of installation. The QUK struts use friction to stay in place, so you've got the pain of freezing the skid while heating the strut, then hoping you can get the skids in place before they lock into place.
Frankly, putting the QUK struts into place is a royal PITA.
In constrast, the MA "Tuff" struts use a set-screw (and a small amount of friction). So you have to drill and tap the hole, but the skids don't require burning and freezing your hands to put them into place.
Personally, I think the MA are easier to install, but they cost 2x what the QUK struts cost; the flipside is it takes (me) 30 min or so less to install the MA struts.
Which comes down (for me) to this: Do I prefer working at my job for the little bit extra time it would cost to get the MA struts, or would I rather spend that time grunting the QUK struts into place?
Well, that and which are in stock...
