Hi Guys
I am new to this post, and new to AP, i am in real estate, and work in an area of $$$ property, I am keen to persue AP to present my properties.
I purchased late last year a DF SAVS aerial video system, needless to say it is not upto the job, and I am seeking a better system.
I am impressed with the microdrone UAV, but horrified at the price tag. so i am looking for a SAFE (to be used in residentual areas) alternative.

I have some experience with a gas heli JR30, not upto 3d levels, but can hover and go away come back etc.

I am very impressed with what i read about two systems here, one being carvec and the other by a US company using electric heli also.

I dont know anyone in the industry, and have resorted to these type forums to avoid another expensive premature purchase.

I have emailed both these companies, and as yet neither have responded, so i dont the prices or availabilty

I am not a hobby flyer, and am not intereseted in recreational flying, I want to purchase a complete unit ready to go!

Please take the time to help if you can.

Many thanks in advance

Marty

Price from Micro Pilot was like 10,400.00 with sensors

Carvec i think was 5,000.00 to 9,000.00

Looks like the way to go is autocopter, Joker Heli setup

Guys here will know more than me, but thought i would give you my 2 cents worth.

Hi,

just try this:

http://www.phodia.com

It's easy to bring in the air, safe, and cheap (Helium Baloon). You can take your time with this to make your pictures , and the S3D system works fine

there is an alternative as well with" Vision Du Ciel"

http://www.vision-du-ciel.com/

Regarding Carvec Systems, it works really great with the Joker Helicotper and the autopilot is awesome, this let you time to take the pictures as well ( just engage the autopilot and the helicopter stays in it's position, you cna then concentrate on the pictures to take.

Then a cheap solution is to use a logo 10 or Eco 8 helicotper with a simple gimbal on it as well, you can make nice pictures with this setup. Check a buddy website: http://www.alticam.fr
But it is a self made thing so it won't it your needs.

Best regards,

Fabien

one thing you have to think about is this you operate a UAS like that over a City or town you have to have a UAS/UAV with a UAV FAA - Certificates of Authorization COA
* "The COA authorizes an operator to use defined airspace for a specified time (up to one year, in some cases) and includes special provisions unique to each operation. For instance, a COA may include a requirement to operate only under Visual Flight Rules (VFR).

* Most, if not all, COAs require coordination with an appropriate air traffic control facility and require the UAV to have a transponder able to operate in standard air traffic control mode with automatic altitude reporting.

* To make sure the UAV will not interfere with other aircraft, a ground observer or an accompanying “chase” aircraft must maintain visual contact with the UAV." (End Quote)recent conversation with a regional FAA official, tasked as a point of contact for UAV waiver applications, resulted in the following comments.

* Certificates of Authorization (COA) exemptions are granted after filing form FAA 7711-2, US Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration. All applications require an airworthiness certificate to be considered for a Waiver to be considered. Waivers are generally granted on a flight by flight basis.

* Certificates of Waiver for Civil (Commercial) Use are currently on hold. Only the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security applications are being accepted for consideration.

* Surprisingly, one prominent platform vendor, that has been in this business for many years, and has several mature, literally "battle tested" platforms, has been denied a COA for operations in the US NAS.

* NASA has been denied a COA on at least one occasion.

The FAA has no jurisdiction in Australia

The Micro Pilot MP2128heli is now only $8000 with sensors and GCS. I just ordered two units for two Bergen Observers to convert to autonomous flight.

I'm really looking forward to working with this system.

Well, got the first of the two Observers built and under test/tuning flights now. We will be starting the integration of the avionics for this bird next month.

Need to build the other Observer in the meantime.

More to come.
