Hi MrMel!

What gear ratio do you have now with the 435.30 motor, it is only turning 420min-1/V.

calculation:
(ESC 100% open, 10S)

2000/34V = 59min-1
420/59 = ratio 7,11

Is there a gear set from MA which is like that?
I thought that the lowest is 7,91:1, the FAI gear.

Then you have only 1800min-1 on the head.

MA has an 13 tooth pinion gear only (125-64)
that schould be fine with 95T main (7,3:1)

The 92 tooth main (0865-92) or the 87 tooth main (0865-87)
couls be better then.

tell me what you have?
Thanks
regards
Franz

12s lipo with 11T pinion and 90T main gear.

I will be running 2000 RPM (same as I do with actro and neu) and then the PowerJazz is pretty much pulled back on the throttle, to have good headroom.

Yep.

On a side note, With my setup (using coupler and shaft extensions) I can use mikado pinions, so for me there isnt a absolut requiment to use MA parts nor stay at their gear ratio.

When I was trying 10s before I did try both 12T and 13T

Hi!

I was wrong,Iwas just thinking about 10S but you have an 12S motor, how ist the power comaperd to the actro 32-3?

I'am thinking about the Strecker 435.30 10S vesion with 480min-1/v
in my stratus but I think that the ESC Jazz 55-32-10 is to weak fo that power. Do I have to buy the power jazz or is it enought to have the mentioned standard 10S jazz?

I have still some 10S lipo 4300, 4900 which i use i my Logo 14 so I don't like to switch to 12S.

CC-85 is on the brink of being too small, depends on your flying style and battery/motor choice.

Send a PM to cgbole for the plate.

Someone is holding a voodoo doll in the form of my stratus, and putting pins into it.

I love how it flies, but so far, Ive had deans get unconnected, motors break down, screws unscrewed, and so on...

But I havent given up on it, I went back to paddles though, until Ive sorted out all the issues, new motor is on the way and will arrive late this week.
When I have it flying good I will put back the VStabi on it.

Got my E-Stratus in the air today. Neu 1915, CC 110 HV, 10s2p a123's, 710 flash tips. HS 1820 and 1950. Flew GREAT. 4:40 minute flights, good power, a bit porky at 11.5 pounds or so...

Will grab video in the future..

Thanks to Chuck and Marshall for the goods...

berthoud,

Just out of curiosity, How do you fit 20 cells of A123 into Stratus Frame? Could you post a picture?

Its a great flying bird thats for sure, Marshall kept it in great shape. The 10s2p a123 fits just fine. I use 5x2 blocks (as the come from dewalt). One is hanging underneath the carbon plate in the nose, all the way back against the metal support (had to whack off the switch mount on the frame) and the other is all the way back on the bottom plate, where the tank was. ESC sits between the two...

Ill get some pics next time I am out and perhaps video...

Next step is 18s1p setup with Powerjazz... (unk motor at this time)...

Its a 1.5y. The cells run great. They actually perform better the harder I use them (ie after a quick, 5A charge at the field, immediately following the first flight). Power is good, very, very constant. And after many months of this abuse there has been very little, if any, degradation in performance. I no longer have fear of 'puffing' a pack. There is a weight, and flight time penalty though, can't have it all I guess :-)

Has anyone broken the front CF plate in flight with one of the larger flight packs strapped to it?

Where do you get the lower swash link for the flybarless conversion. I am considering using the CSM Cyclock and giving it a shot.
