Gohbee Aviation Stinger 30-90 > Homemade training gear for my new Stinger 30?

Tired of trying to learn to fly nitro helis with used and underpowered equipment, I ordered a Stinger 30. I forgot the name of the person I placed my order with (sorry), but he was very helpful, and the price was great! However, I forgot to order training gear.

I plan on going the "homemade" route to keep things on the cheap side. What kind of homemade landing would work well with the OS 37? I live at 4400ft elevation, so I'm sure it will not develop the same power as it would at a much lower elevation. Will the Stinger pick up a hula hoop with wooden dowels? Or would I need to go with carbon fiber arrow shafts/wiffle balls?

I'm just performing a sanity check and don't want to overload the heli. My Trex 450 flies great with training gear, but my Quickie 18 hovers at full throttle, and that's about it (but wait until I get my .26 car engine mounts finished

From everything I have read here, I think I'll really like my new Stinger 30. Now I just have to wait for UPS...

you could use doll rods in a cross pattern tied at the center and put some wuflfe balls at the end of the rods to get the type of training gear you want. just take a look at some of the ones on line and make the training gear likt that.

Hey I didn't ask for this fetish.!!!But I'am sure paying for it....

The cross pattern out of dowels should be very simple for me to build. I'll give that a shot. I guess I was just a little anxious that the engine would not have enough power to pull the heli + training gear. But reading that people can do loops and rolls means that it should have plenty of power.

Thanks!

OS .37 and 4400 feet...

I'd say that the engine should do fine, however you may find that 30% nitro fuel will be on tap for that engine. I'm not sure 15% would be enough at that elevation. Don't run the engine lean either to get the power out of it. You'll burn her up. Run the 30% rich and you should be OK.

Later...
