Bang the Ceiling

The new replacement blades (stiffer) make a big difference in climbing power. The XRB bangs the ceiling no problem now (stretches the cord out).

I hit the corner of my room and crashed from six foot up. No damage except to untwist the cord.

fly time

They are AC powered. You shouldn't fly longer than 20 minutes, as the motor can get too hot.

They are a blast.

Happyfly,

tail control doesn't work suddenly
No matter how I trim the rudder even using subtrim, the red light is still there and consequently the tail doesn't work!!! It happened suddenly one day after the XRB has been with me for a month without high impact crush so far.

I try to hold tightly the heli and apply the throttle, the light switches from red to green to red randomly.

Does anyone have the same problem?

Kevin

I do. Wonder what the fix is? Looks like a trend!! Sure would like to play with my $300.00 toy.

Sounds like you might have a slightly damaged blade.. I had a similar problem that was corrected by a blade change.
Hope this helps.

How does a blade affect the red LED? This LED is on all the time. It would be nice to hear for Mr. Green on the issue.

Question for those who have been messing around with their Lama's - what parts (if any) are the most likely to break other than blades.

Just trying to work out what would make a sensible crash kit.

Different blades put different loads on the motors and interact differently. Trims and some settings can change. Go thru the tail set up steps.

1) put the heli on the table, center the trim, adjust the rudder pot (1st one) so that the led goes out when turned. This is the gyro electric center.

2) hover the mini lama and see if the tail stays centered. IF not adjust the pitch angle screws on the top rotor head. If the heli yaws left, turn the screws OUT or LEFT 1 turn ea and refly. If still yawing adjust until it stops. If the heli yaws to the right, turn the pitch angle adjustment screws IN or Right 1 turn at a time until the yaw stops. This adjustment will also give the same left/right piro feel.

If the heli still yaws, you may have a broken gyro or a TX box that has a dirty contact which can happen and if the heli came thru us, we can service it for you at no charge. Just send it back in to us and we will warranty it for you. No problem. We too want you to be able to play with your 300 toy.

If you have any questions, just ask.

Thanks

Allen Key Size for Maingear

I want to check the trueness of the mainmast (it looks like it has a wobble) - I tried the supplied allen key in the maingear grubscrew but it doesn't measure up against the factory torque applied to the grubscrew - the allen key is too loose a fit and soft.

Can anyone tell me the size of the allen key so I can try to source another ? My vernier shows something like 0.95mm (+/- a bit).

Thanks
Jeff

I just purchase my lama.

But after crashed a few times, it seems a bit wrong with the machine.

The adjusting light does not lighten - no green or red light at all? But after invert the heli, it lighten up again. I don't know what's the problem, but I just can not control the heli? It seems there is some problem with the balancer.

How can I fix it or does anyone encounter this problem?

XRB like an RC

HI, i'm a new member from Italy.
I have a XRB; i have two questions:
in your opinion is it possible make the XRB a real RC Heli? With a receiver jeti for example and two jety 5Amp regulators?

Is it possible change the mode?? I use MODE3 cyclic on the left joy, rudder and throttle on the right!

Thanks

I bought a Hirobo XRB Lama and their good fun to play with. I sit on my couch flying and watch TV at the same time. I had a Realflight G2 but got bored with it after a few times using it. I like the XRB because it's like flying the real thing but only it's better because you can do it in your living room. I've seen someone selling carbon blades for these. He was selling them on ebay for $45.00 USD. I missed out on them, but hopefully he will sell more? If your learning to fly helicopters, I suggest buying one of these to learn on, before flying a full sized nitro. It will get you use to hovering and it's cheaper to crash the XRB then a nitro helicopter.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick
