I was able to get a recovery console by booting from the CD. I didn't think to try chkdsk, but if it happens again I will. It probably couldn't hurt.

But, I think KE has improved the installer since then, so hopefully this won't happen to anyone again!

I hope so as I am about to purchase G2.
To combat this problem I will clone my Win2000 to an image file on CDR's.
I have already taken precausion by updating my display driver to the latest cerified driver.

I just thought of something for DUS10.
I don't know if this ever was fixed but are you aware that even that you can assign multiple controller it wasn't possible to actually use them?
Some game controllers would not work unless all others were removed first. This was a known Microsoft problem and I am not sure if this was ever fixed.

If you create a recovery disk before you install it will possibly save you some hassle. You can also set 2000 to backup any modified drivers and recover them with the recovery disk.
