OK, I have my new DX7 system. It has already charged for 16 hours like the manual said but it is not at 12 volts?

Do I keep charging it unil it hits 12 volts? Or do I just accept 11.3 volts?

Will there be battery memory issues with this first charge?

Thanks for any info.

Why are you looking for 12V? Its 8 1.2v batteries, do the math.

Hmm... The only reason I was thinkinig 12V was because the top bar next to the voltage output is not full. I was figuring that bar would fill up to show that it has a full charge, anything less would be not fully charged?

Well, anyway that is what I was thinking. My next worry was if I stopped now, will the battery get a memory and never exceed that chrge if I find I later need it to be higher.

Thanks for your feedback.

I think 11.3 will be your max voltage with that battery. If you want more, order a $30 Tx lipo from these guys: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=611870

You will then get near 12.6 volts at full charge.

I am not sure how to prevent a Tx battery from getting a memory. I have not had much trouble with that in the past.

Good luck

Dont sweat it, NiCad memory comes from repeatedly partially discharging a battery, cycle it every few months and you will be fine, if you dont have a cycler leave it on till it goes into low voltage alarm and charge it over night.

Also, the onboard volt meters in transmitters arent exactly the most accurate things on earth, its comparative, if every time you charge it it says 11.7 then you charge it and it will only take 11.2 you know there's a problem.

Hey Dude

1.2V X 8 = 9.6V
Might, maybe, peak at 11V or so max!!

Where the heck do you get 11.2V??

The DX7 has a NiMH TX pack which is not subject to memory problems.

The battery in my DX7 has a NiMetal in it . I think they don`t have memory problems like the old Nicads. Charge and be happy .

I also found it odd that the DX7 does not show a "full charge" on the scale after a full charge. My 9303 always has, 8103, etc. Personally I think they should rescale the meter but I guess that is where that other thread about getting into the service menu might come in handy

I think the manual should say what to do....
