I told you this was a no brainer and works wonderfully.

How much time did it take to install? 3minutes? 5 minutes? 10 minutes?

Now think of the time you will save over the life of the helicopter/engine because of the time you will save each time you drop the engine for service, replacement, etc.

No because the tuning problem i thought i was chasing might be the dreaded tail thrust lock up!! Grinning thanks to your awareness of the Hub, a must have item as standard in the kit i feel, we got chrome balls so lets see what happens

Synergy RC deal with it!

Got mine today. Put it on and dail in at 1.5 thousandths. It was so easy. Now hopefully it does spin on the shaft.

spin/clamping

There should be enough pressure from the clamping design to hold down Ft. Knox.

Shawn30, did you get 1.5 thou on the first try, and have you since tried to get it any closer to true?

I have not fiddled with mine any longer as my kit is under the Christmas tree, but I will give it another go while building. I imagine a simple rotation might provide even better results.

Got Mine, Work of Art, Tried It On...

a spare engine just to check it out, it was 1-1/2 thou first try. Rotated it 1/4 turn and it's just under a thou. Loosened 1 clamp bolt and tightened the other, then retightened the first and now under 1/2 thou. Total time maybe 10 minutes, there really is a Heli God!!
Individually serial numbered, much better clutch bolt holes, fan and hub were perfect balance right out of the box. AAA+++ to these guys, I hope they build torque tube ends soon!!

I am missing something? I am building my second N9 and using a hyperhub. It is .006 out measured at the tip of the shaft and my first one was also .005 out. Are you not supposed to use the stock engine washer and nut and only tighten down the two screws on the hub?

Yes use the stock engine washer and nut. The hub will not be out very much. The clutch on the other hand can be out as much as .0015 as mine was today.

You will need to mark the high spot and use a wrech to bend the shaft to get the runout close to zero. I use the box end of the wrech (the enclosed part) and just slip the saft through the hole. Good luck.

Check the runout at the base of the shaft first. Move the clutch around to get it as low as possible then check the top under the counter hole and then follow Rymps suggestion.

only tighten down the two screws on the hub?

To get the hub runout the lowest first lightly tighten the engine nut so the crank is fully engaged. The while going back and forth and applying even pressure fully tighten the two clamping screws at the hub base. Then fully tighten the engine nut.

Check the hub runout before installing the clutch. If the hub runout is high loosen the engine nut and recheck the runout. If the dial reads lower without the engine nut tight you need to change how you tighten the engine nut. The angle of the threads on the crank will push the hub to one side. You might have to hold the hub against the angle to get the hub straight as you tighten the engine nut.

Installation Instructions from Hyper Performance:

1. Apply a small amount of locktight to the 3mm clamping screws and install them in the hub loose.
2. Install the motor supplied washer on to the crankshaft.
3. Press the the Hyperhub onto the crankshaft.
4. Install the kit supplied washer and motor nut by hand.
5. Tighten the nut with light force until the Hyperhub is fully engaged on the crankshaft.
6. Tighten the 3mm clamping screws with equal, moderate force.
7. Tighten the motor nut on the crankshaft as normal.

It was definitley my technique (or lack of) that was causing the problem. I had the main engine nut too tight. I now have it down to .0002 measured at the tip of the shaft and I can't even see the guage move on the hub or the base of the shaft. This is really a great product. Thanks for the help.
