| I just installed a new product that makes dial indicating the fan/clutch assembly a worry of the past for Synergy owners.
I was trying to install the stock fan hub on an OS 70, and the closest I could get it, after 8 hours of fiddling, several phone calls to Todd, and a visit to a couple of field reps (2 hours away!) was about 9 thousandths. On many attempts it was out as much as 18 thou!!
I know I was doing everything correctly because I watched the instructional video posted on the Synergy web site, and I even took my tools and parts to a machine shop and they verified that my tools and technique were proper.
Go to Hyperformancerc.com and check out the hyper hub. I received mine in the mail last night. I followed the instructions posted on the web site and on the first try the OS 70 dialed in with a total run out of 1.5 thou. That is only 3/4 thou actual off center! First Try!! Not 8 hours later and many phone calls later. First Try!! 5 Minutes!!
I will go back and see if I can get it closer than that, but heck, this is way within reasonable specs right out of the gates.
I ordered the hyperhub at $69.99, and they changed the price for an introductory offer after sending payment. I was surprised to see that I was only charged the sale price or $64.95.
If you have a synergy under the Christmas tree and are worried about dial indicating the hub, and you don't have the tools to dial indicate, I would say one might be just fine spending your money on the hyperhub instead of the dial indicator, indicator stand, etc.
I cannot wait to see how well it installs on my OS 90, as this engine was much closer to specs when using the stock Synergy parts.
Oh, yeah, the black anodizing reminds me a lot of the top shelf quality and clean machining of Hirobo's high end parts.
