| Can anyone tell me how it flies compared to the Rappy or Evo 50?
| Well, first off I have owned and flown all 3. I have never been a raptor fan, I think they are well designed and well made helis, but I just never liked their feel. I WAS a devoted EVO man for a long time and still think they are one great heli. For a 50 size I am now flying a Knight 50 (plastic version) and love it. It's not perfect as you've read from a few of the threads, but what is? It's a very good heli at any price, and a great heli for what it costs and what the spares cost. Now on to your flying question. It flies very true and straight, and extremely light. It is a light model, but it seems to fly even lighter. The CCPM is very true, I'm flying with a 14 MZ where you can trim out all of the inter-actions of the CCPM, and my Knight took very little. This means it should fly very true with any decent radio. Because it's CCPM I recommend a good quality well matched set of servos for the swash. I am using 9252's for the swash and a 401/9254 for the tail. It handles the wind very well and has ZERO pitchyness in FFF. Due to it's light weight, it autos as well as a lot of 60's. I think it's as quick and nimble as most Rappys, without the pitchyness. It's as smooth as an EVO, with much more collective response. Hope this helps. |
