How much

Looking at that flight line full of Heli's you just got to ask your self, How much money is sitting there? $$$

I'm so materialistic

Just wondering, did anyone fly a Robbe, Vario or ???

Corect me if I'm wrong but the only manufactures to be represented are JR, Hirobo, Kyosho and Min Air. Just wondering...

There wasn't a doubt in my mind that Curtis was going to take it back again. He is such an awesome pilot and my inspiration to continue in this hobby and to strive to be a very precise pilot. Congrats Curtis!

If you had been there, there would be quite a bit of dought about Curtis winning this one. He only won the prelims by about twelve out of a thousand nomalized points. He tied for the first round in the finals, and he had a serious problem with his Vigor. In the second round, he only came in seventh place, Dobashi put in a flight in the second round that had seen to be believed, he was around eighty points ahead of Curtis on that flight and definitly won the round. The last round on Saturday, Curtis came in third behind two of the Japanese, but Dave, his dad, ran a spread sheet with all the scores to that point and it came out that Curtis had won by ONE normalized point. The spread sheet indicated that the higher everyone placed in the remainder of the last round, the higer the spread would be. The Japanese team came up and congratulated him right after that, so they were probably doing the same thing. In the end, Curtis won by THREE normalized points. Three out of a thousand!. That is extremly close, if he hadn't won the prelims, the Japanese would have the trophy. The Japanese had a very strong team, and like Curtis, they are to be congratulated for their effort. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief when it was over. We have the title again, but no one can be certain of what the results will be when other countries send teams that are that strong. There was simply no dominant helicopter nor pilot at the Worlds.

So Curtis just won by luck? I don't think so, whether he won by three points or blew away the competion, he still won no matter how you want to look at it. He obviously is a dominant pilot since everyone in the helicopter world basically knows who he is and that he is the "best".

Did I say anything about luck, even though there is a lot of luck involved in any type of competition. There is an old saying amoung drag racer, " it's better to be lucky than good". Curtis is the best all around pilot in the world, no one else has his ability to fly Fai and 3D equally well, but he is not head and shoulders above all the other Fai flyers in the would. That is the reason that he hasn't won all the world chanpionships. The Japanese had three former world champion attending, and the only two time consecutive winner. There was only a very small spread of point between the first three places, and as I said, Curtis did not win in the finals, if that was all that was involved, one of the Japanese would have won. I am tickled that both luck and Curtis' skill came together this time and allowed us (the USA) to have the first place flyer again. The next Worlds is in the future and no one can be certain what the outcome will be.
