I was using FMS for a while (beta 6), but a virus decided that my hard drive needed to be formatted, so I put bets 7 on tonight to try to get some time in, but it does not recognize the transmitter anymore. I double checked all my settings, but still nothing. Anyone else have this problem with Win ME? Anyone able to shed any light would be helpful. Thanks.

Troubles???

I can't answer about FMS,but, I have M.E. and as far as I'm concerned it's a P.O.S!!!

After suffering with the "screen freezes" "control alt delete" not working, loosing the volume control, having to shut down manually and restarting, then waiting for scan disk to finnish I was ready to throw this "THING" out the "WINDOWS" ( pun intended).

I had to have my drive reformated and now 2 out of 3 times G-2 won't recognize my TX, what a P.I.T.A. I go in and recalibrate the TX and after 3-4 trys it finally works! ANYONE thinking of getting M.E.? Just jump off a bridge, or, throw yourself in front of a SPEEDING TRAIN!

It will be less painful and a lot quicker than trying to get M.E. to work right.
Thanks guys, now I feel better! hehehe-------BladeRunner.

Sorry to hear about your FMS problem..
First of all, Window M.E. is P.O.S.
I am using Windows98 SE. Not a problem at all... I have a copy of XP Pro. I haven't tried it yet. I heard quite a few of the positive comments about it but will wait a little bit longer to see what transpired CNN did mentioned about the security breach on XP for internet user. I am waiting to see if the fix comes out then I might consider installing XP on mine.
Get yourself back to the windows 98SE that will help, besides what kind of Video Card, CPU and How much memory you are running on your system. Nvidia G-Force 2 will help as well you find you get alot out of it. Stay Out! of Windows M.E.

FMS & Windows ME

I Love It!! Very Stable but, 1. Make sure to Download the Current Video Driver. 2. Check the Driver for your Sound Card and 3. Make sure you are running Version 7 FMS. Most problems with ME are the Drivers so Check for updates.!

I've had Win ME on mine and the wifes puter for about 6 months now.
Like the other non problem users keep it updated and make sure you have enough RAM (192 min) and CPU (any P3 or better) and it should be ok. FMA working A OK.

Most computer guys I've talked to tell me that Win 98 is still the most stable gaming platform. Win XP is considered "full of bugs" and Win 2000 is a bear to set up with a monster sim program like G2. I had to resort to paying some professional computer geek a couple hundred bucks to get my sim program back up and running when I upgraded to Win 2000 from Win 98 Learned the hard way that what sounds like a good idea can turn into a nightmare pretty fast!! The Win 2000 service pack update that I also downloaded actually wiped out my computer's ability to recognize the installed joystick device. I lost count how many times I had to uninstall and reinstall the friggin' program before I got everything back to working order....And the dam thing still freezes up on me now and then with no warning! If I had the choice to do it over, I think I'd stick with Win 98. Just my .02 cents' worth.

You're not running through the parallel port, do you? If you run Win ME, which sucks BTW, you must use the PIC serial interface or a game port interface.

You can find out more about the compatiblity of the OS and Interfaces in the Forum of the FMS homepage. Here's the link

Good luck,
