The stick travel on throttle has a reduced throw plus it would be necassary to recalibrate the pots to the program.
Oh ? Why would you go and design in some thing like that ? Was there supposed to be some "benefit" to that ?

And what about the faux pas on the DX6 resolution ?
I can understand if you want to avoid that question

See what happens when a company is not straight with it's customers from the start ?

reduced stick travel on throttle

All JR and Spektrum radios have reduced stick travel on throttle including your JR8103 Airwolf. The purpose is to reduce the throttle stick angle at full throttle and at idle thus giving a better rudder stick feel at these extreme positions. Airplanes especially are flown much of the time at full throttle and many pilots find that a reduced full throttle stick angle offers better control of the rudder (mode 2).

It won't be long now for us in the USA to find out how the DX7 works. I went on the Horizon Hobby dealer site at the hobby shop I work at and the DX7s that we had on order are getting ready to ship.

Thankyou for letting us know what to do.
Unfortunately though, I dont feel that after paying for the TX I should have to then send it to the USA from Australia....
Its going back to my LHS until he gets some mode 2's in.
Overall though, the features and feel are excellent IMO.
And regardless of this first hickup, I WILL be buying a Mode 2 TX ASAP.

If you bling it, they will come :D

I have to admit I could not figure out why I was having so much trouble with the collective on my JR6102(DX) until I found the "throttle" limiting device. It was making my my collective outputs go from 8% to 88% which means that I had a differnce of 4% between low and high. So I was having fits trying to setup my helicopters because if I set the blade pitch to zero at 50% output on the tx, there would always be more negative pitch than positive. I was somewhat miffed when I figured out why. Now that Adams has explained the reasoning I have to assume that goes for the aileron channel as well. I just looked at my XP8103 and it too has the limiting device. The difference here is that the 8103 throttle output goes from 0% to 100%. All I can assume is that when my JR6102 was setup, no one calibrated the stick to give 0% to 100% with the limited movement. I can only hope that my DX-7 will have the correct calibration when it arrives. Now at least I understand what to look for.

The throw is only limited on the throttle stick, not the ailerons. Each radio is calibrated for center and endpoints on all channels before it leaves the factory. I'm not sure why your 6102 is having this issue however contact our service center and they can help identify if something in the programming is causing the issue or if it needs to be sent in for recalibration.

I only meant that on a mode1 tx, the ailerons are paired with the throttle. So the same concept would apply. (I am guessing) The problem was fixed by removing the plastic blocks that limit the throttle. I recently entered the service menu and recalibrated both gimbles. I did this with the limiting blocks removed so I would have to do it again with them in to set it up as JR intended. I also noted that I could change the mode from mode1 to mode2 in the 6102 software. I obviously would not attempt that myself unless I did not need the tx anymore since I fly mode1.

And so it is. But it seems to be, at most, 10%. Hardly noticable but re-setting the EPA or ATV can easily fix that.

What I have figured out is that the physical throw of the stick is reduced but the travel (assuming JR did their job) should be 0% to 100% for the throttle and we should not see any difference in servo throw compared to any other channel. My 6102 was the exception since the throttle was never calibrated at the reduced throw.

the actual pychical throw was reduced, not the actual "electronical" throw or band, as mentioned you will still have 0-100% fullrange as you would in any other radio. I read this on a 16 page report on "another" forum, please do make me find it as I can not rememeber which page, lol.

Are these sets available in Mode 3 yet?

Or do we still have to change over the wiring?
