e-MS Composit Hornet > X-3D XL stretch, 4s Spin11 Jetibox

Finally got around to doing the XL stretch with ~10g light weight LAheli 28cm blades (610 mm rotor) and raised the head by 10 mm.

Flys very nice and doesn't have to scream the 3K RPM for a good tip speed. Lighter rotor maintains flip rates even though larger span, whilst running a lower RPM reduces the paddle air speed and softens the cyclic centre, smoother less twitchy fly , aided by the raised head for greater pendulum handling. All noticeable changes in handling are relatively slight and not at all major effects.
Better economy? probably a bit but still testing...

4s with Jeti Spin11

Now added a 4s xTP910mAh pack, Jeti Spin11 ESC and Jeti box from MS-USA. The standard 3s setup was very good already, I just wanted to even more power, cause you never know .

Sadly when the weather finally gave me a break I went out with a flat pack . I wish I could have posted some good video of this 364g XL on 4s 2900 rpm, instead of this very brief test hover footage:

By the way, anything you can report on the 2100T?

Sorry no real extra info yet on the 2100t, I slapped it on, no fuss, dialed 80% gain and it just works so far.

Been very frustrating just waiting around...

I forgot to ask, is the the 2100T digital? I hoped to use a Futaba s3154 with it. If so, where can I get one?

Yes - The 2100T has 2 digital modes (logictech brand digitals and other brand digitals) and 1 analog mode - I think the only place to get it in the US is from HeliProz -

Thanks Cap! Very awesome, but I wonder why x2 digital modes?

DarkHorse, any feedback on setup and experience would be helpful.

For matched frequency/frame rate with different digital servos - Futaba has specific digital servos that mate frequency/frame rate with their gyros such as their 401/9254 combo and other digitals don't get along as well - Same with matched Logictech gyros/servos (6100T/6100G) but they have a second digital mode/frequency/frame rate that should work well with other digital servos too.

Crap, now I'm curious whether the S3154 is truly an optimal servo with the one of the two modes on the 2100T versus that of the 401/s3154

Given that the 2100T weighs in at 10 grams versus the 401's 27 grams I'd prefer giving the 2100T a shot.

Yeah I don't know what the frequency/frame rate of the 3154 is but it's probably not the high frequency/frame rate of the 9253/9254 dedicated tail servos that specifically match the high frequency/frame rate of the 401 - Not all digital servos work well with the 401's digital mode so I couldn't say which gyro the 3154 would work best with -

I hear Logictech is supposed to be coming out with a matched digital micro servo (2100G?) like their 6100G to mate with the 2100T for small electric helis - So that will be cool to finally have a matched gyro/digital servo combo for small electrics like the big boys have for the big nitros.

Someone tested the servo modes for us -

Looks pretty much same as the 401 to me.
