Update

Last someone posted is that the guy was supposed to have plastic surgery done.

I know it was later in the evening, and usually there aren't that many heli people there that would have witnessed the accident. Probably should check one RCU to see if anyone there knows anything.

??????

Hey what was the outcome of this accident? Is a claim filed with AMA? Will the heli pilot's homeowners insurance cover? Is the guy that got hit gonna be OK? What are the facts?

What was my tag line? AMA 139721

Oh No

I heard something disturbing today, but do not know enough of the AMA policies and insurance regulations to speculate.

Does AMA insurance provide coverage to persons or properties involved in an R/C related accident? I also heard that if for instance, you hit another pilot, then the insurance may not need to provide coverage?

Can someone with a little more knowledge about this confirm/deny this and hoepfully provide a little insight?

I seem to remember that the BMFA (British equivalent of the AMA) does (or did) provide member to member indemnification - in other words, hit a member of the public and you're covered, hit a fellow modeller, and you're not.

Something to do with accepting the risk by participating.

i believe that AMA ins.is secondary to your home owners Ins..and any other medical/property ins that you have...they have always coverd anything that i have seen or heard of!

OK

Just a little update.. I heard from the birdie. it was the Electric guys mistake.

The heli pilot was hovering when the elictric guy went to retrieve his plane. Unfrotunately he wasn't looking at where he was going and ran face first into the heli.
