Synergy R/C Synergy N9 > Paint for the Canopy?

Where is the best place to get small (or cheap) quantities of base/clear for painting the canopy?? I want to paint it myself but I would rather not buy a whole bunch of stuff just for one canopy.

Which brands to get and which brands NOT to get?

Any other hints appreciated!

bart its best to stick to 2-ak materials, if you go past your local car smash repair place they might sell you small bits

i am doing a "ho to paint thread" on another site

heres the link http://www.archeli.com.au/phpBB2/vi...er=asc&&start=0

this should be of great help to you

I'm using the house of kolor paint too. I haven't sprayed it yet but I hear its awsome paint. And you can get it pre-mixed if you're air brushing. They're about 10 bucks per pre-mixed color.

They sell House of Kolor paint in 2 and 4oz sizes already reduced and ready to spray.

House of Kolor is great paint. Tried Auto-air before and had some issues with it peeling on me - don't know if it was my prep/spray technique, but the HOK goes on great, dries fast and doesn't lift when taped.

As far as clear is concerned, I use PPG Omni clear - about $30 for a quart of clear and a pint of hardener.

The HOK stuff is pretty expensive, especially if you're just learning to paint. I use some Createx waterbased paint, cheap, visable, easy to spray and easy to clean.

The PPG Omni AU clearcoat is great stuff!

If you can get House of Colors paint from your local paint shop. They work the best. I have used both model paint out of a can and professional paints and there is a big difference. \
The best bet is to just spend the money that you would on the paint and have rick do it. He is inexspensive and does a heck of a job. www.rickosplace.com

Bathmagic.....cool. I am watching your thread. It will be really really interesting to read this as I have had a go at an evo 50 canopy which didn't come out all bad but could have been better. I am into a Synergy soon and looking to improve my painting skills a bit for it. I enjoy the do it yourself approach as it has the personal touch at the end so thanks for putting the thread together.
