greetings all,
does anyone know what is the fix for collets that cause fan hub to wobble?
is it possible that i may have gotten the wrong collets ?

the engine i am using is a os 91szh hyper with pump.
are there different collets for the ys91 st4?

I took over two hours to dial indicate the fan and I still feel that it can move off of center if i do not have it tight enough.It is not a great collet fit with the os or ys.I am sure we will hear it soon.

The cheese slipped off my cracker a long time ago

Another issue that has come up in a couple instances is the engine collet could be defective and dial indicating the engine shows too much run out. If this is the case, try making the slot in the collet a little wider using a thin Dremel cutoff wheel. If that doesn't improve the run out dramatically, call Todd and he will send you a new collet right away. If you do make the slot wider, be sure to trim any burrs from the inside of the collet before reinstalling it.

greetings all,
i spoke to nathan about the problem with the hub and he advised opening the slot in the collets with a dremel.
i did exatly what he said and i dialed the hub with a runout of les than i thou. after putting on clutch i had a 4 thou runout at the base, so i turned it around 180 deg, and the runout was less than i thou.

the start shaft at the tip was out 3 thou, and i simply used a hollow rod to gently bend the shaft and in a little while got the startshaft tip to be less than i thou.

i'm glad they now realise there is a collet issue, i knew it since i first got mine.

i hope they will send all owners a set of collets with this problem now.
