Not sure which would be the best bang for my $$$$$$$$. Can get either at Helidirect. Trex comes with extra blades, and the esc. Motor appears to be larger as well. It is, however, $180 more than the HDX. I don't believe the esc and blades are worth $180. I've heard a lot of stuff about the swash plate coming apart in the Trex, don't know if the metal swash is in that catagory or not.

I'm new to micros and just wanted some other opinions about which would be a better buy. I would appreciate some experienced opinions about what would be the better buy.

well, you'll be getting a V2, so you dont have to worry about the swash coming apart.

as for your other questions, im not sure, but i will tell you that since the HDX is new, wait for some people to fly it, then read reviews. it could be a not-so-great heli. so i'd go with the 450 SE V2. i have one and like it

If you go with the Trex, you can get your parts pretty much anywhere. If you go with the HDX, you're are more limited. If you fly helis, you need parts, lots of them!

The large user base means there is a wealth of information here, other heli forums and various websites about the Trex so you can get answers to questions easily. If you fly helis, you will have questions, lots of them.

I think that's worth $180 easily.

I have an Trex SE and Its a wonderful heli..I can get parts almost anywhere .....Im not sure about the other, have not seen it in any local hobby shops around here..........might be an issue later.
