Did you guys have to use a thin walled socket to install the fan hub. the sockets that i have don't fit inside the fan hub.

I had to use a cheap socket from an old emergency tool kit.

The Sears Craftman socket's are too thick.

Same Issue

Same issue, the socket I used on my Tempest wont fit in the Synergy, now I have to go shopping for a socket that is thin walled...Bringing the fan and bolt with me to autozone or sears...

Another stupid question, there are two collets, I assume the bigger one goes on the bottom(meaning closer to the engine and the smaller above the fan on the bolt side, correct? I dont think it would fir the other way anyways... The instructions are nice, but you kinda have to leave some to your imigination and fitting before building

If you dont succeed the first time, try and try again. With heli's keep on trying!

Ahh, having everything bigger and better in the USA doesn't always pay off then after all. My common UK Halfords socket fitted nicely!

Think you can only fit the collets one way. I think the lower one is slightly longer with a larger ID and the upper one is shorter with a smaller ID.

Rock

Rock,

Yep, I believe you are right, or I would of probably done it the incorrect way, thank god for size... So the fan hub sits slightly off the collar closer to engine, meaining it still shows alittle brass?

Haven't got the model infront of me but if I remember right you should still be able to see a small bit of the brass collet between the hub and engine once it's all tight.
