Having good results predicting acceleration from tilt. The acceleration prediction is added to the latest GPS reading to produce a current velocity. The correlation between tilt and acceleration is derived from the last 30 seconds of GPS data shifted 1 second forward.

Everything is pointing to embedding a complete flight simulator on the airframe to predict position. Given orientation, velocity, and energy input, predict future velocity.
