I wan't my wife to get interested in the Hobby of Heli's and Planks.
She has no patience and is always threating to destroy my Raptor 90.
Its already crashed and she wants to further damage it. She says this a boring hobby and its stupid. How can i peak her interest?

M8 same problem here, my misses hates all of my hobbies, and she ain't gonna change.

1st Argument
= she gets the hump with me, and knocks my 3810 of the table..
so i went and bought a 9x11, nothing wrong with it other than a bent aerial.

2nd Argument
= she abruptly pushes past me in the shed, and one of my Rappy 50's gets knocked of the bench on floor..
So i ordered £150 odd quids worth of spares,, nothing other than a bent flybar..

3rd Argument
= Big row over buying two Trex's, so i stormed of went flying, with a rappy 50,, stuffed it in big time..
got Home blamed her and bought a R90SE..

When i had more time to fly, she would moan about the money i spend on helis, and i would just bugger off down the farm,,, and fly for a couple of hours...

See ya gotta use it to your advantage

Naughty ain't i..

Raptor Freak,

Looks like you have a real challange on your hands. I got BelindaInMobile interested initially by taking her to R/C flight school for a vacation. Once she got over the extreme fear, she was OK with helicopters. The most important thing is NOT to get upset when she crashes ..... just tell her that "it's only parts ..... glad that you weren't hurt" ...... this goes a long way in thefight to winning her over.

If she currently has a vendeta with your current helicopers, you may be fighting a losing battle. She may feel that you care more about the helicopters that you do about her (this is quite common).

Hi All,

I'm cracking up at the 'you love your heli's more than me' comment. It's sooo true!!!

I believe he used that line just last night!!

I found this interesting.

It's funny, but then, it's not. Finding a good balance between spouse and modeling can be quite the challenge with the demands of this hobby. To be even remotely proficient with your skill set requires dedicated time. It's going to be a hard sell when both spouse and hobby require the same amount of attention; and the reality~ there is the potential here for a very long learning curve.

Problem solved...

Personally I don’t see a problem.

Spend as much time with your loved one’s as is needed it’s all about quality time you see, you no what I mean take them shopping because you no how they love money spent on them, take them to meet your friends and so on and if your wife dose not like it then leave her and to spend even more time and money on your loved ones.

Problem solved.

Ps hope my wife doesn’t see this…

Men you seem to all to be saying Me Me Me . What about her . What interests of hers do you do with her ?? It's give and take not take and take . My wife loves to go with me as long as we are together she is happy . But then again I go to do her things with her ! But it is nice she doesn't have that many things she wants to do . So it's great . Give it a try you'll see the resentment go away . Happy Flying

No, The rest of us do not want to get caught by the enevital spies that our other hlaves have out there. You are right about the fact that MOST people think mainly about themselves ..... not a slam, it's just human nature. Going out of your way to accomodate your other half DOES go a long way to helping keep the peace and tranquility around longer

Hey everyone.

I have to say, it is nice when both spouses enjoy the hobby. My hubby mechanic (TJRIDE) and I have been flying together for about 5-6 months and we love it!! We have even enjoyed long weekend adventures with our heli's - going to XFC, to MVRCC Fun Fly, and next weekend we head over to Muncie for URCHA - can't wait!!

I don't know what to tell you Raptor Freak for how to get your wife interested - I just got interested watching TJRIDE with his heli. Do you have a sim? That can be like a game you and her play.

Good luck!
