Thanks! I had it done by a Local person who paints RC cars mostly and really liked his work. He is about to do another for me as well.

Very nice paint job!

I started this topic last year and glad to see it still going. I on the other hand didn't have much luck with the stinger. One mishap and I broke the main frame. Long story short, I sold it and put the rest of my money back into my Raptor 50.

The stinger wasn't a bad machine. Great heli for the money and it had a nice metal head.

Good to see the topic going!

Thanks! Yeah was looking for something in a 50 size to push the envolope with and for the money this little ship so far is not bad! I did buy some high end stuff ( Futaba 611 gyro, Youngblood pipe, Thunder Tiger Zero Alpha Gov. OS Hyper 50......) I do not plan on getting out of the hobby anytime soon, so parts can be used again, if they are still workng!! he he! ,but this is the case with any ship you get. Also I do like ship for the money.

Guys, I sure do love my stinger 50. I have been getting quite a bit of flying in lately (well at least before it got cold again). I've been able to go to a park less than five minutes from the house. They have two large football fields and there is never anyone there.

I just recently submitted my application to become a Gohbee field rep. Here is a link to a quick video I put together that I sent in with my application. My broth-in-law did the video taping and this was his first time do it, but he did an OK job. I am not into 3D yet, this is just a video of me doing some casual flying.

Hey King

I like your video it's nice to see normal people flying and having fun. I have a couple of raptors but am interested in the stingers. What do you think. Raptor 60 or the stinger since you own both. Also I have a v2 raptor 30 I want to upgrade to a 50 using the stinger parts. Anybody done this and if so how did it work out. Thanks Eric

Anything worth doing Is worth over doing.

I absolutely love my stinger 50. I also had a raptor 30 several years ago. I think the raptors and stingers are both great helis. I am much more comfortable flying my stinger 50 than my raptor 60. The raptor 60 is bigger of course so it is a little more intimidating than the 50. My stinger 50 is just a great heli, my favorite out of any heli I have owned or currently own. As I'm trying to become a gohbee field rep, I would definitely choose the stinger 60 over the Raptor 60, haha. As far as converting the raptor 30 to a stinger 50, I would give Dave a call at Gohbee, http://www.gohbee.com . Good luck in whatever you do. Thanks for the compliments on the video too.

My personal recommendation if you are after more performance is to go with the 50 conversion.
The 50 will easily outperform any 60.

If you really want the bigger bird go right to the 90 it will save you the cost of upgrading the 60 engine to a 90 later on.
The cost difference between a Stinger 60 and 90 is very small and the only real difference is the stock gearing, tail boom and belt.
If you already have a 60 engine that you want to use then I would still get the 90 and the extra gears for the 60. The extra 2" of boom length will not be noticed on the 60.

new stinger 30

I am new to this hobby so i don't have alot of experience. Any help would be appreciated.
My new 30 stinger is flying well now after fixing a clutch problem that dave from gohbee helped to correct. The only problem now is that the tail rotor doesn't always spin when the power is killed.
any thoughts would be appreciated

I dont think the 30's have a auto unit on the tail?? They need to weathervane auto'd.
Checkout the parts list breakdown in the manual and you'll see the difference. An old school raptor "fix" was to wrap a thick O-ring around the bottom of the main shaft right above the "Jesus bolt". I wouldnt recommend this unless your using carbon blades. If your using woodies be careful because the added drag that the tail gives will be really hard to compensate for the lack of inertia of the woodies. With it the way it is, if you auto with lots of forward movement the tail will just follow along like its suppose too.

I own a stinger 30

I own a Stinger 30, Its a great heli and also my first. My cousin has a Raptor 30 and loves to fly my Stinger. He says it seems a little lighter than the raptor! and has plenty of power. I think Gohbee has a great heli for the price. Im running a FY401 Gyro, and the tail is solid! I cant say enough about them. I hope in a few years when im a better pilot possibly being a field rep. I would like to rep a comp that has such a solid product.

hello all gohbee pilots

I´ve been reading good things about stingers, and I like the idea of a big stinger heli (60 or 90) for me. but in my country there´s only RAPTORS and a shipment to my country takes almost 2 weeks. I understand a lot of Stinger and Raptor parts are interchangeable; I´d like to know if a Stinger 60 - 90 can use a Raptor 60 - 90 spindle and main shaft (specially the spindle; the most ovious damaged part in a crash)

thankyou

Girls and RC Helicopters are dangerous...!!! but we need them...!!!

I knew the stinger 60/90 head was different than the Raptor 60/90 head so I called David at Gohbee to verify that they were not interchangable. The spindles are not the same length on the two machines and the main shafts are two different diameters. It is possible to put a Gohbee head on a raptor with a few minor changes.

Hope this helps.
