Hi All,

I was reading some posts about the wind in Ohio. Well, it's showed up here. I flew about 10 packs today, hot but calm. Then I had to do a couple more.

There a T-storms moving into the area but it WAS calm, doing figure eights, getting pretty cocky. The comes the gusts!

Gawd, my heli lost altitude. I did the most amazing crop dusting imitation right through my hosta's. They were budding up. All I saw was buds, blades all flying everywhere!!!

It was somewhat comical. I'll assess the damage tomorrow, blades for sure. Probably a main shaft and feather shaft.

The, only, good news is my new hs-65MGs did NOT strip... whoo hoo, keepers!

Cheers,
Leslie

Don't the winds just suck!! It's almost as bad as rain.....

I did finally get 2 battery packs flown today before the winds picked back up.

Hello Leslie,

Darn! You were flying so good and the wind trys to ruin your day. It's been windy in Michigan too ,but I fly when I can. I want to thankyou for your tip on fixing the Trex glitches by using an automotive vacuum line. I didn't want to fly the Trex till I bought a different reciever ,but I remembered your fix and tried it myself ,two packs later and not a glitch. The wisdom of a woman pilot is priceless! Here's a picture of the vacuum line attached to the skids

Arnie

ps: Like the hostas Leslie?

Hi Arnie,

Glad the vacumn tubing worked out for you. I was amazed at what a difference a simple piece of tubing made.

To be fair, I got the idea from searching on glitch solutions here. I believe the vacumn tubing idea is from OICU812... just to give proper credit

Oh and nice hostas, cracking up here, mine looked good up until yesterday. Fortunately I did not seem to do much damage. One pair of blades (smashed to smitherines) and main gear ground a few teeth off. Surprisingly the main shaft and feather shaft do not seem bent (glass tested). I should be back in business tomorrow...whew!

Cheers,
Leslie

Hello Leslie,
Just the blades to replace and main gear after the hosta run in ,that's not bad ,I haven't broke a blade yet ,two main shafts(bent) ,one feathering shaft and two main gear after those two minor glitch crashes. Today it tried to glitch but recovers so fast I never lose control so that vacuum hose works. I ordered a set of SAB 320 blades today cause I have heard so much good about them and wanted to see for myself.

Hi Arnie,

Well, I'm back up and flying. The only things I mashed are the main gear and the blades. I am truly amazed.

I'm also running the hs-65MG's so I'm pleased that I did not strip a servo!! I've been having bad luck with the hs-56's so I switched. To quote you, Arnie, I am truly blessed on this one

Cheers,
Leslie

Leslie,
Yes you are blessed to be a woman pilot and build some of the best stuff. I was looking at those 65mgs they look really nice. I had to replace one gear set in my s241. I like em and I'm glad to have both JR and Futaba stuff.

Leslie I'm not really happy with my 56's in the SE either I have had better luck with the 55's in my XL. I have the XL at the lake for those calm evenings I can get a few flites in before going home... I got the gas cat in the water this week too.... It is way too fast, running in the high 60's and with a few more adjustments it should be at 70+ I hope..... I put 3 boat together for guys at the marina so we are doing some informal racing..... Going to the boat tomorrow (friday) for the weekend

Tom..... No "D" flying....

Hi Slider,

It's been a while! I really like the hs-65MG's. I had a run of bad luck with the 56's stripped three and killed two of them totally.

the MG are holding up real well.

Good to hear from ya, I've been on vaca... chasing stripers on the cape...

I'm on the chat, on the 'other' forum

Cheers,
Leslie
