I first saw it here:

http://www.modelflight.com.au/rc_mo..._helicopter.htm

To me it would appear to be a little underpowered, but it looks to be capable of very mild aerobatics-not 3D. If you were to seriously consider one, id say do a bit more research on it.

BTW, the frames look like they are G10.

This is a great bird. I can't say enough about it. I enjoy it more then my Trex. Anyone wanting to get into a nitro bird right off this is the one. Other then some trim it just picked up and was ready to perform. I just wish the snow would get lost so I can play.

What is parts pricing like?

Cheers

If you bling it, they will come :D

Parts are cheep so far. Trex parts have a big market if you shop you can do just as well I think. Haven't bought many parts for the Black Hawk yet, just some spares ( main and tail blades, spare landing gear and a carbon tail boom. I have a bad thing about just chopping the throttle ). The landing gear is kinda weak I went through a set of those. Most parts in a crash I think would be common to just about any bird. I know I sound like I'm skipping out on your question but I can't really give you a solid answer to what would break. Sorry

I went to the LHS to get some blades and an extra TR servo for my Trex. Instead, I picked up one of the EP versions, the "Xplore" by BP Hobbies. It caught my eye because it was a little larger than the Trex.

My low cost elec.:
3-Bluebird servos (careful when selecting servos, some won't fit, e.g. some Hitech/Futaba)
Walkera HH Gyro
Futaba DS on the Tail,
Align 35GL ESC (recommends using a BEC)
Futaba PCM RX
Venom 2500mAh Batt

Pitch set +/- 10. Instructions recommended +/- 6 to 7 but after power up and centering the servos, I went the 3D route.

Setting up the Gyro took a little time but after that it was lift off in wind gusts up to 4mph. There was no glitching because there is plenty of room to place everything. I'm very impressed and satisfied with the stability and its flight (Mild 3D) characteristics. I hope it catches on. I too enjoy it more than my Trex.

Later on, it will be tranformed for Hard Core 3D because there are plenty of upgrades available.

Let me know how the landing gear are holding up.

Out of 4 flights, the landing gear are holding up. I'm launching and landing on concrete. After the 4th filght, I found the pitch to be +10/-7. Adjusted it to +/- 8.

Its good to learn that everything from the swash up on the Trex will fit, as well as the T/R GB. It appears to be just like the Protech Zoom also. So if anyone dosen't like the canopy, get the Protech.

I broke another set today. I didn't have a hard landing that I think would cause them to break. I don't get it. Thanks for your reply.

WOW!

Seems like you break all the time.

running O.S .15 hs 65 on cyclic/ gy 401/ and a 9650.Becareful with the servo mount on the tail it will loosen up and screw up pitch.Make sure you have it secure.Thought I did until set up everything and trimmed it.Fine .took it out again and it slipped down a little from vibration. Also put nuts on the inside of aileron linkage my carbon frame stipped a little .Only things I found wrong .Cant beat it for the price and the parts are cheaper then a trex.
