Who has done theirs themselves and how did you do it? I figure I will just do the paint and then take it to an auto paint place for the clearcoat. Maybe autoair paint? Iam using a cut up freya canopy now.

I did mine myself, and took it to a body shop for a clear coat.
Both of these methods work fine. Createx auto-air is great paint - you should have a great looking paint job! Parma Faskolor works good also - here's a pic of a canopy I did (I know its not an Avant, so please forgive me... ):
I did the paint, added the vinyl graphics and had a local bodyshop clearcoat it. I wish the clearcoat was a little thicker, but next time...

angelob, Is that autoair on that canopy? What type of masking tape did you use? I have an old single action pasche airbrush. If I use canned air do you think I will get an OK result? That canopy looks great!

Canned air is a nightmare for autoair, i tried it with very little success, the best tape is probably the 3M fine line tape which is blue.

Its Parma Faskolor yellow with fluorescent orange on the bottom. I used a thin tape I found in the car section of my LHS to mask off the winshield - not sure what it was. The graphics are from arizona heli. I sprayed the canopy with a cheapo airbrush I bought at Harbor Freight - nothing fancy.
This time around I have a detail spray gun and want to use auto-air paints since they have more a variety.
