Fromeco's vs Duralites

raptorheli2

I'm in the process of equipping my N9's as well and I would be very interested in knowing why you feel that there is a significant advantage to Fromeco's over Duralite's for the N9. Could you please provide some more details on your decision.

Thanks,

Brian

if you are not planning to run 6 volts on the duralite the you can purchase a 5.1 or 5.3 reg but if later you decide to run the 6 volt after you have purchased the reg then you will need a 6 volt reg

if you have a fromeco unit arizona to be precise then only one unit needed as it is adjustable

those that make sence

I just wondered what the differences are because I've been told that JK runs Duralites with a 6V regulator and a 5.1V drop down regulator for the Gyro. It makes sense. I am also looking into one of SG's units. I am hopeful that if I use one of his units I'll be able to win the XFC too.

why those servos i would run the arizona at 6 volts and run the fastest servos out there

I heard/read somewhere that that the new 9255 can't be used at 6v don't know how true that is but the main reason is there cheaper

Hi Simon

Been running 6v though 9255's in all my models for 6 months now, no problems, they certainly come alive on 6V!

Hi

Maybe not on paper but in life they do!
Myself, JK, Todd, Duncan and Roger are all running them on 6v

Just step down the voltage to the tail servo.

The MHW Article also says JR Servos will run at 6.0v when I checked with JR they say they don't.

i only fly jr and every servo i've had from jr has said 4.8v only, i wouldn't run any jr on 6v to be sure.

btw bobj i wasn't saying don't run 6v just saying they are not meant to. the servo test in the mag gives good information but they missed out a few servos i would have liked to see in there and there was some that just shouldn't have been there.

i would like faster servos than the 8511's but i'm not sure what to go for. so i'll probably end up with 8511's unless someone else can say X is better.

cheers

Hey Guys!

Raptorheli2: Not sure if this information is correct but i believe the JR DS 8455 is rated for 6V and it is in the same torque band as the Futaba 9252 and also rated at 0.10 per60Deg, which is damn fast.

I too would like a faster servo and have been looking into using the DS8455 servos, i am currectly using the JR DS8511 and so far i really like them, with the torgue they produce they don't slow down when under load, but i would like a servo with the same specs as the DS8511 but with more snap to it.

I think the DS 8425 and the DS8455 are both rated for use with 6V.

Really chomping the bit on the Synergy, keep reaching into my wallet for my flexible friend but keep putting it back!! Really tempted

Anybody testing one with a YS 91?

Cheers!

rotorhead

thanks for the info on the servo.

i'm not sure what servos to go for at all. i wonder at what point the extra torque offered by some will make up for it being slower.

will the 8511 be quick enough with it regulated to 5.3v?

no mans land now with this..ummmmm

cheers

Raptorheli2 - You thought about re-gearing the DS8511's as per the artical in MHW (just thinking here but i wold guess that would also invalidate any warrenty by macgreggers ??)
