Maybe a dumb question but I can't figure out how to install the fuel tank w/o seperating the 2 halves of the frame. The part where the fuel tubing connects does not allow me to just push it in.

Also spray the rubber isolators with some windex. It helps.

Has anybody had the isolators rub a hole in the gas tank? Mine seems to be wearing the tank. Sorry for little thread hijack detour

I dont know if it will help but a buddy and I use our electric fuel pumps for other models so I do not know if it will work on the avant since I dont have one .. We plug all the extra lines in a tank, turn on the fuel pump to empty it (of air) then once it has put a decent vacuum on it we slip them into place then release the pump, it literally only takes seconds.. Completely installed or removed with out any effort, pushing, scraping, or any other type of damage to the tank, I hope this little trick can work for you all to

I had luck by leaving the rubber spacers off of the frame (bottom 2 and 1 on the back) installing the tank and then reinstalling the rubber spacers makes this process a breeze. However you cannot glue them in but I have not had problems with those three coming out on their own.

Yeah it's kind of tricky until you learn how it's done. After you learn it can be installed and uninstalled pretty easily.
Here's video of how it's done so you can learn how to do it quick.

Tank removal

My first one was when the tank was new and the rubber clean, that was
REAL work.

At the field, after a few flights with oiled rubber isolators, the
tank is easy to remove when you push out the bottom first.
