Go for the "quality time together" talk............explain how you love the hobby and you would love to share this with her........Actually just watching my hubby got me interested, but I really do love our quality time together.

Mix a little nitro in with all of her perfumes.

No, no. You put Nitro in your daughters perfume to find her a heliman suitor. To get your wife in to heli's you have to mix potpouri in your nitro.

Well, thx for all answers

For now she only plays on the sim. Maybe some day she will want to try it for real too.

Now maybe I just wait for my kid to grow up a little... maybe its going to be a better bet than my wife

tchavei,
Hello and I know the feeling. My wife Carrie went on the sim with me at first and actually did better than I did. She had no interest in the real thing until our Florida trip this past march where my brother-in-law had two blade cx's so she tried it and actually hovered the first time. She ended up buying me one of my brother-in-law's cx. I'm trying to get a video of her flying it outside as soon as we get a windless day.

Hi Arnie,

Good for Carrie, I can't wait to see the video. I also can't wait for some decent weather too. It finally stopped raining and I am seeing the sun. But it's too windy to go fly....maybe tomorrow

Cheers,
Leslie

Leslie,
Yeah Carrie and I saw the weather report for your area and praying no floods for Leslie. Summer is so short we try to hang on every year to keep it. I flew that Raptor 30 in some strong winds when I went to florida ,but it's not as fun as the calmer days. Thanks for the kind words for Carrie.

Hi Arnie,

Thanks for the prayers they must have worked, I'm high and dry, just can't fly much. Sigh.

Hey you're gonna have to set Carrie up with an account here on RR

How are you making out with that raptor? Probably the weather is holding you up too.

Cheers,
Leslie

Leslie,

You have such good taste ,that is a canopy for the walkera #36 and they are under$5 at http://www.helidirect.com/index.php?cPath=38_101
You can order one or two and get some Trex parts while you're there.

The tail rest on that elite is from Steve's raptor 50 when he had an air bubble in the fuel line and used up the pony tank running out of gas at 50 feet in the air ,down come the heli breaking the stabilizer in half and a pitch link.

Hi Arnie,

I'm going to have to get one of those canopies before fall!! The tail looks great too, nice job!!

The weather was glorious today, got a few packs in.... had to do some chores first... like hay the yard

I could not believe the rust, gotta fly more if I want to go inverted... sigh.

Cheers,
Leslie

Let her play with the Sim for a while. My wife thought it was a fun game because how much fun it was to crash. she doesn;t know what it costs for a real crash!

If you are not yet married, then try to have her give it a go. Girlfriends are more open to try stuff with you than your wife. You know how it is.

If your wife isn't into flying, then let it be.. The last thing you need is to have her at the field nagging you about leaving. That's not good for you, or for her. You may want to take her to the field one day and leave your helis at home.. that way, both of you are just spectators. stand by her side, and after a few minutes, ask her if she is ready to go. you may be surprised..

My wife however.. The only way she would be interested in helis, is if that was what she was staring at down the barrel of a shot gun.
do I hear 'PULL'!!!?

BTW - I would sure hate it if she tried to get me to go shoe shopping with her..

Lets be realistic, 99% of the woman like something else not mechanical or Gas hobbies.
They like to fly, but direct to New York, Vegas, Houston, LA but to buy personal and beauty stuff,
They like restaurants bars and social life.

Les than 1% will like what we like, Sorry Guys…………..

Try just talking to her about it, I didnt start flying untill i was toke out to the flying area and was handed the radio and was told to fly it. I never thought that i would be able to fly but I am flying now its a lot of fun. Also try getting her around other girls that fly and have her hang out with them maybe they can convince her to atleast try! but dont push her into something that she doesn't want to do!
