I also plan on being out there (finally). The kid's softball season has now ended until the fall. This works out nicely, because in her last tournament she hurt her wrist. She even had to play some games with it injured.

It turns out that she has torn cartilage, a cyst, and possibly a tendon out of place. We should know today whether she needs just arthroscopic surgery or if they will have to open her wrist up to repair the tendon.

Yes, it does appear quite painful. When she was playing with it, the worst was batting. She would come back in from an at bat in tears. We kept icing it but that only does so much. At one point, she came back in from an at bat and simply stuck her whole hand in the ice in the ice chest.

Well, we just found out that she will not have surgery...at least not yet. The doctor said that kids heal well and the tear should heal. But the wrist has to remain immobile. So, she is now in a cast from her hand to the middle of her upper arm. She has to wear that for 4 weeks. At that point they will take the cast off and check it again. If need be, they will put another one back on for at least two more weeks.

Joe,
Glad to hear from you in the forum once again. Sorry about your daughter's injury. Hope all goes well in that regard.

Henrik, if all goes well, I am going to try and make it out. Hopefully you guys will still be flying by the time I make it out. I will give you a call just to make sure.

See you guys there,

vince'

I may just be a wimp - but it's just crazy hot these days.

I tried flying very early - from sun up to about 11:00am from both fields and the sun is in a very bad location in the morning - shadows the heli and I have a hard time with orientation.

Is there a better alternative for AM flying? If not, I'll sure be on the hunt for one..

let us know if you find another field. I totally agree...

The ARCA is ok in the morning if there are no airplanes in the air.

Arca is not bad for morning heli flying. We fly west of the runway on the north side of the field facing north. The sun is at your back for most of the day.
